Yes and no.
Whatever spiritual process of identity, transition or healing
that people go through, this should not be discriminated against.

If someone is imbalanced or has disorders that gets them flagged or screened out from serving,
they should be able to go through healing therapy until they are screened as healthy, like anyone else;
and that should not bar them from any time of employment or office
except for the same standard policies on any past crimes or convictions as applied to anyone else.

How we identify and believe as our "affiliation"
is like faith based religious freedom to adopt and exercise
the policies and traditions of an affiliated group or organization based on beliefs.

We should never encourage or engage in discrimination
solely by creed or belief, or choice of personal identity or affiliation.

However, if there is "mental illness or disorder" involved,
including dangerous or disabling states of PTSD, this should be treated and not
abused to ban someone permanently although they may not be fit to serve in the meantime.

No reason to discriminate against someone for having medical issues
that can be resolved.

And if there is an issue of how someone dresses that interferes
with safety, duty or policy (such as wearing certain hats or scarves
which interfere with safety helmets and gear) of course the rules
of employees and dress codes can supercede personal choices of what we wear.

The better solution is to require not just screening for mental disorders,
abuses or addictions, but require treatment to fully resolve any such issues
so the person tests as having a clear and healthy mind and emotional state.

I believe as many heterosexual and "cisgender" males and females
would end up requiring counseling and healing therapy to address
other forms of disorders, past abuses or addictive tendencies;
and there's no reason why transgender affiliates couldn't pass
the same standards of healthy mental, emotional and relational status.

If we raise the standards of mental health screening and healing recovery,
we could also catch, prevent and correct more PTSD, suicidal, homicidal,
addictive or abusive cases instead of enabling military rape, domestic abuse,
PTSD and alcoholic/drug abuse to kill or injure people within the military or their families.

This is exactly how I feel. The transgender individual I feel is a person who is mentally unstable. These are people who are attempting to deceive others. If you were born a male, and now you want to present yourself as a female, there has got to be some other mental issues that you are in conflict with. We can not allow these individuals in the United States military endangering other military persons lives.

We now must ban Homosexuals from the United States Military. This can also be seen as a major distraction on the battlefield.And a form of mental illness as was stated by the APA, untill they were forced to change that opinion.

These people belong in mental institutions, not in the U.S. Military. The Supreme Court made the right decision. I don't feel that the Pentagon or the U.S. Marine Corps wanted Homosexuals or Transgender people in their ranks from the start of this debate anyway.
