Question for rtwng

...and yes, rtwng, i've left my socialistic espousal behind. I've decided to start from the middle. Um, Kathianne, can you just take the posts from here? I have two little kids and I promised my husband I wouldn't spend all day on the computer. I already stated that I don't have the solution.

Now we're getting somewhere!

I do have the solution. Global individual rights, enforced by the SDI(Star wars). Or a fleet of bureacratic robots!:D

When you return, I would like your definition 'spreading world peace', until then I have no idea how I could take your place.

Seems you wish to put out platitudes without a focus. Not trying to be negative, just don't know what you are trying to say.

It's like raising kids... the best way to teach is by example.

That is not an answer, another platitude.

Our example has been to work hard and play hard. Others have problems with the former. The Middle East doesn't seem to understand playing, relaxing, and allowing others to do the same.

so now you're teaching us? I though you didn't have the answers.

This is classic. I love how Socialism has suddenly become the 'greatest evil' since communism yet its clear that by doing so, very few people have grown intellectually and spiritually to understand that socialism is the next step in human societal evolution.

DK (I got it right that time) I didn't realize you were such an idealist. The "next step in human societal evolution"??? DEvolution is a more apt term to apply to the effects of socialism. Why do you refuse to accept the evidence of the huge failure of socialist experiments all over the world? The intellectual and spiritual growth required to make socialism work is not with those who aspire to succeed, but instead with those who aspire to do as little as possible. If you and I are achievers in a socialist society we are, in fact, the virtual if not the actual slaves of those who seek to achieve nothing.

"The desire for everyone to be equal and work for the common cause of mankind will eventually take root. It will suck ass for those that have to 'die with the most toys', but face it, nepotism will be on the downward spiral in the next few generations."

Here's a flash for you - I don't care if I have the MOST toys when I die. I just want those toys for which I have worked to belong to me instead of having a government decide how many of my toys should belong to someone else.

P.S. If you have more toys than me, you're welcome to keep them. I won't go ask Hillary to help me steal your car or your house, or your money.

Just like my parents. They can't stop to take a a break. Then I met my husbands family, who play like wealthy americans so to speak. I think what socialists and capitalists don't realize, is that it's fine to fight for what you believe, in this crazy world beliefs we've built up over our lifetime are the only thing we have to hold onto. But, you're never going to make a socialist think like a capitalist, or a capitalist think like a socialist, and that's great. Individual right to free thoughts, but this whole notion of free speech has everyone yelling so loudly at one another, that our world has reached a cross. Are we going to continue to force our own notions on one another? Or will we try to accept each other and work together?

Just curious, how old are you? Two young children? 25?

As long as you're coming to take away something which is rightfully mine, for which I worked, simply to give it away to some drone, you had better come prepared to kick my ass. Because one or the other of us is going to get decked.

cc, if you are trying to formulate your political views, I applaud you. However, the whole point of free speech (and boards such as these) is that we get to talk about our ideas, why they work or don't work, etc. Sometimes you will get in discussions with very argumentative people, like RWA. Many times you will get in discussions with thought provoking people like DK or Kathianne. It is far from forcing our thoughts on others; it's the free exchange of ideas.

I've converted many a lib in my days, cc. So you're against free speech? How very totalitarian of you.

Close. A little older, all though I look 16. Why do you ask? ... and I know I should keep my identity as secret as possible on these boards... so that's all you get.
Please don't tell me I'm young and stupid and this is not how the world works.

Do you really think I'm against free speech? Come on. You're all trying to get a fight out of me.

Didn't have to do with young and stupid, more like young and trying to figure things out:

by GOP: cc, if you are trying to formulate your political views, I applaud you.

You're right in not giving out personal info, though age, (ahem, within reason), is not really an identifiable attribute.

Is it unreasonable to request that the lefties and the righties try to work things out?

we're trying to work it out. You just keep going into "deep, probing question mode".
