 Which is another way of saying the Whitehouse admits the other two stimuluses didn't work! The fall of Keysenian economics. Oh the humanity!

President Obama's economic team is looking for ways to accelerate the agonizingly slow economic recovery, but the top White House spokesman on Thursday said a large spending measure is not being considered.

"Some big, new stimulus plan is not in the offing," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said.

National unemployment numbers for August will be released Friday morning. While administration officials do not yet know what those numbers will reveal, analysts widely expect the national unemployment rate will hover near 10.

The anemic job growth has spurred a number of analysts to call for additional stimulus spending, arguing the $787 billion package passed shortly after Obama took office was too small to have the desired impact.

But Gibbs said flatly that a package resembling the first stimulus is off the table as the president's economic team "is looking at a whole host" of possibilities for "targeted measures" that would speed up the recovery.

And they will keep "looking" until AFTER the November elections to see what they can get away with.:lol::lol:

This is pretty funny stuff, because it's as much as admitting the stimulus didn't work. The Big F-ing Deal, FDR Style New Deal II has gone down in flames.

Liberalism is being discredited as we watch. No wonder liberals have become so hysterical on this board lately. It must be hard to watch their perfect utopian ideas of big government crash and burn.

With unemployment at 15-20% in real numbers, there could be a case made for infrastructure spending. The real question of course would be that if the government hadn't been spending and warning about tax increases, would unemployment be where it is? Sort of hard to measure, just like jobs created or saved.

The only money I've seen spend around here has been resurfacing and building 'fountains' in suburban downtown areas. Now the 'signs' about Obama? Big, splashy and expensive:

Millions for Road Signs?: That's Stimulating? - ABC News

Signs of the Stimulus
Some Call it Transparency, Others Another Example of Government Waste

By JONATHAN KARL and GREGORY SIMMONS
July 14, 2010

As the midterm election season approaches, new road signs are popping up everywhere millions of dollars worth of signs touting "The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act" and reminding passers-by that the program is "Putting America Back to Work."

On the road leading to Dulles Airport outside Washington, DC there's a 10' x 11' road sign touting a runway improvement project funded by the federal stimulus. The project cost nearly $15 million and has created 17 jobs, according to recovery.gov.

However, there's another number that caught the eye of ABC News: $10,000. That's how much money the Washington Airports Authority tells ABC News it spent to make and install the sign a single sign announcing that the project is "Funded by The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act" and is "Putting America Back to Work." The money for the sign was taken out of the budget for the runway improvement project.

ABC News has reached out to a number of states about spending on stimulus signs and learned the state of Illinois has spent $650,000 on about 950 signs and Pennsylvania has spent $157,000 on 70 signs. Other states, like Virginia, Vermont, and Arizona do not sanction any signs...

Again I am not in favor of the Federal Government getting involved with what should be state and municipal projects, if though they are going to do so, it seems the money would be better spent on projects and not signs. It would also seem more of an investment if they were buildings like those build in the 30's or programs that truly were making neighborhoods better. Blacktop isn't all that expensive, until the Feds start getting involved.

If you're going to attempt to blame Keynesian economics, at least be knowledgable enough to spell the word (Nevermind any clue as to what it means).

It spells huge failure for the Dems this November!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

not really, we never had anything close to that economic system before. bush spent and did tax cuts at the same time (leaving the government to save nothing, while actually incurring debt) and then when obama came a long in a real recession and started spending he was only further accumulating debt and driving down the dollar.

you can't have one president blow all the countries savings and then the next one follow keynes and except anything to work

Thank you for proving me right. I said in another thread I now what liberals will say before they say it.

This is another great tactic they play. Making you waste your time "defining" things for them, AS IF IT WERE NOT OBVIOUS.

SINCE WE HAVE BEEN LIVING KEYNESIAN ECONOMICS FOR THE LAST NEAR TWO YEARS, it's kind of obvious isn't it?

It's failing in Europe, it's failing here, but I have to waste time pretending we don't know that?

AS IF this were some classroom exercise AND NOT HARD COLD REALITY FOR EVERYONE.

It's like being in the middle of the 1930's Oklahoma dust bowl and some elitist wants me to define a dust storm instead of the moron just OBSERVING WHAT'S HAPPENING ALL AROUND HIM!

It's hilarious!

we havent been in the keynes system at all. if by two years you mean, since obama took office, than we have solely been in a free for all of spending, which is definitely not supported by the keynes theory of economics. also you can't have one president be a wild spender with tax cuts and then have the next one attempt keynes (which obama hasn't) and except anything to work. throwing keyne's system around whenver you don't like a president's economy policy is pretty stupid.

They will do some Clinton style "townhalls." Find out what sounds good to the usual brain dead Obama voter and then they will run with that!

That's like saying because Bush jaywalked and Obama committed murder, they both broke the law so both are the same.

Bush spent too much, YES. But Obama is Bush on STEROIDS when it comes to spending.

Pretty lame liberals!
