And actually, every unwanted pregnancy is NOT a failure of abstinence education. Most unwanted pregnancies are a result of the failure/misapplication of contraception. Human error, accident, faulty materials, whatever. That's not lack of education, that's just the nature of procreation. Every unwanted pregnancy at this point is the result of faulty education that instills a false sense of security.

Because it doesn't work, and has never worked. Hormones are raging and teenagers haven't developed those parts of the brain which deal with common sense and impulse control. Those are the last areas of the brains which develop. That's why teenagers are notorious for doing stupid things.

Giving them the best information possible to protect themselves from foolish decisions is never a bad thing. Especially considering that comprehensive sex education reduces the curiosity factor and actually encourages teenagers to remain celibate. Teenagers who don't have sex education are more likely to engage in early sex.

You have it backwards. Countries with sex education for all, free contraception. and low cost/free abortions, all have lower rates of abortion than the US.

When these things were readily available in the US, unplanned pregnancies decreased as well. It is the policies of right-wing conservatives which are raising the abortion rate in the US. But you refuse to admit it.
