If you want to reduce abortions, start promoting sex education in high schools, contraceptives provide through health insurance, pre-natal care and delivery with no co-pays, paid maternity leave and subsidized day care.

Women have abortions because they cannot afford to have babies. If you really want to reduce abortions, make it easier and cheaper for women to have the baby.

How about parents actually parent?

How about looking at realistic ways of reducing the need for abortions instead of the personal responsibility mantras of the right wing because those aren't working.

Countries with free birth control, mandatory sex education in high school, universal health care and mandated maternity leave all have lower rates of abortion than the US.

No, it's the conservatives who lie to women. Telling them that they care about unborn children, when in reality all they care about is controlling women's sex lives. Religious conservatives of every stripe - from the Taliban, Orthodox Jews, to conservative Christians, all want to stop women from having sex and control sexuality among women.

Republicans like Rick Santorum have talked about banning birth control because it's "not good for women". In other words, we can't control women who take birth control. Women are smart enough to see through the lie of "abortion kills babies" to see the agenda of control behind it. And we're not buying it. Republicans will always lose the women's vote unless and until they start believing and acknowledging that women can make their own decisions and they need to stay out of them.

Conservatives like to pretend that women seeking abortions are very young and promiscuous but it's just another of their lies. 60% of women seeking abortions already have at least one child, so it's not a matter that women don't want children, or hate children, as we so often read here.

One lie after another. Abortion doesn't make babies loved, it doesn't reduce child abuse, it doesn't reduce abortion, and killing babies is not an expression of love for children. These lies don't even follow a logical pattern..yet the baby killers continue to spout them.

Credit Discovery Channel's documentary "In The Womb" for changing my position on abortion. Went from completely pro-choice to anti-aboriton (hate the term pro-life when I'm for the death penalty and it being broadened heh.) It's a position I still hold to this day but in the case of rape (punishing victims isn't just,) or in the case of the pregnancy being a threat to the health or life of the mother.

Whats sicking is your stance that money is more important than a child. When we found out we were going to have our 1st child,we were as broke as you could be,but not once ever did we consider killing our child,because we didn't have enough money,a very subjective subject to begin with,just what is enough.We worked ate boxed mac and cheese,and raised our kids.
