And that aint happening, no matter WHO is in office.

Anything Trump or Desantis will do, will be a short fix. Nothing more. Like Trumps term. Short fixes. He didn't put anything on paper because he was too busy deflecting Democrat bullshit. But, if he DOES get a second term, he's had plenty of time to get things in order and ready to go once his ass hits the Oval Office chair! One can only hope..............

IDK maybe since there seems to be a discrepancy between what Hunter and Biden claim were the rent and what Joe's taxes showed as the rent.
 
I went shopping this morning and could not believe what two bags of groceries cost me.... just a couple of plastic bags of grapes were $17 alone....

Look somewhere else to shop. Not kidding. Lidl and Aldo are still cheapish in comparison. Look for local groceries in old parts of town. I seldom walk into a name-brand supermarket anymore they are so outragious (other than Aldi but they are reasonable on most things)

Yes. Just read today that inflation is all the way down to 6.5%. Yeah Biden! It is very comforting to know that already high rents will now be only going up another 6.5%, instead of higher. Time to bow down to Biden five times per day. According to him, inflation is now below zero. Seriously though, time for Biden to claim that landlords are price gouging, even after losing tons of money due to non paid rents during the pandemic. Surely it must be all the fault of greedy landlords.

I've had friends have to move because they couldn't afford the hikes.
The manager of my apartments now, said she's had many of the residents here ask if theres anything available, because THEIR friends and family can't afford the rent hikes.
A friend of mine had to sell her house last fall, and had to find an apartment. And she told me there's nothing out there any cheaper than $1200.00 a month in bad areas, and the average was $1500 - $1700 a month for a ONE bedroom.
What it is now means little unless compared to past and as always we have Another USMB member who “has friends who have”. There are legal dictates for leases and you offer a sappy emotive rendition of “others” who had rents double and triple and that’s Absolutely Not Happening in the real estate market.
If someone is willing to pay what the owner asks then Good for the owner and be damned this weepy “others did not get it because….sniff…sniff …they could not afford it”
Cut out the $500 hair braiding and pay for your housing.
 
This is going to end very badly.

The renters are accumulating crippling debt. They are going to have to pay all that back rent sooner or later. They are going to end up homeless when the moratorium ends. The Democrats are delaying the inevitable and destroying property owners in the process. The longer this moratorium drags on, the more small business owners will be plowed under.

Individual landlords are going broke. They will go out of business and their properties are going to be hoovered up by LLCs and LLPs who will then drive up rents which the current soon-to-be homeless renters won't be able to afford.

The winners in this rolling train wreck will be rich investors.

They're thiefs and the government needs to take action to make sure that we don't become a third world country where there's only a very poor and a small super rich elite. Rents should be kept low and government should step in to build government housing if need be.
