Washington (CNN) - A new national poll indicates that 56 percent of all Americans have an unfavorable view of Sarah Palin, an all-time high for the former Alaska governor. That 56 percent unfavorable figure is up seven points from just before the midterm elections, according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday morning.

And meanwhile, in a separate news story...

Washington (CNN) - Two new polls, but as of now the same old story: Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, and Sarah Palin remain the leaders of the pack in hypothetical 2012 GOP presidential nomination matchups.

You poor sick man

We will pray for you.

And if praying does not work you might need to be deprogrammed

Guess that means VA's fondest wish won't come true.

No Palin in 2012. LOL

Not necessarily. If you read the second article, Palin still is a leader among the right's "base". Even though the whole of the country will never elect her, much like what we saw with the likes of O'Donnell, Angle and other extreme right candidates, this does not mean they can't make it on the GOP ticket...

Must make one warm and cozy with ones sentiments when one can take comfort at a poll that shows one he fears as losing ground while at the same time taking comfort at a poll showing that the same one that he fears is doing well in the polls.

Talk about grasping for straws.

What's going to happen in 2012? Will the GOP follow its newly energized base and go for Palin or will they nominate yet another time-worn vanilla-flavored centrist (see John McCain, Bob Dole) and then complain the Democrats actually selected their candidate for them?

Either way, there will be a bitch fest coming from the GOP.

In 2008, McCain's nomination was surrounded by right wing pundits complaining the Democrats somehow forced their hand and made them nominate McCain. All the while, the Democrats as of April still had no real idea who THEIR candidate would be.

The problem with the base is they follow the pundits the way disciples follow gurus. And the pundits can't think about leading, only ideology and ratings. Now with the base ideologically charged, there is no room for deeper thought.

A circular firing squad wrought by circular logic.

It's not grasping for straws to talk about someone who wants to be president. How many threads are you allowed to do that.

It's certainly not grasping for straws to talk about Sarah Palin .. who can't seem to decide if she wants to be president or Britney Spears.

Is Palin's sinking favorability relevent?

Of course it is .. unless you're a fan

If Obama's favorability was dropping as fast as Palin's would all these Palin fans be creating threads up the ass about it?

Of course they would.

No...

But it is grasping for straws to find a way to explain two conflicting results of polls as you try to knock her.

Knock her if you wish. I, too, do not see her as a viable GOP candidate for 2012.....but when you find youirself neagtiove rationalizing one thing and then negative rationalizing the exact opposite?

You are grasping for straws.

Debate on the merits. Dont try to conjure up merits to debate.
