Over the counter Birth Control could be coming

Within the definition you posted is the answer, " unborn " as in doesn't exist yet.
So, what do YOU believe is growing inside the mother's uterus? See, this is where I know you're not serious, or maybe you've just never actually seen or touched a pregnant woman. Tell you what, go up to the next obviously pregnant woman you see and tell her she has nothing inside her. Let us know from the ICU how it went.

There are lots of possibilities, if you ever check the mortality rates on fetises you'd understand that. Only one possibility leads to the creation of a new individual person if they avoid all the obstacles.

Biology says there's a human in there. If you don't think what's growing in a woman is a human, what is it, a zebra?

Birth control has single handedly made this a stronger nation. Imagine all pregnancies that have not happened.

I've changed my mind and think the government should provide birth control for anyone that wants it that has an income below 75-100K,,
maybe even vasectomies',,
As a Conservative that is usually against any government interference I can see where that proposal has a lot of merit. We wouldn't want the movie Idocracy could become reality, would we?

At least for the last 100 years we have always had over the counter birth control. It was called condoms. Before that we had abstinence. In fact we have both of them now.

The makings of a human being, the beginnings of a human being but not a human being. Not an individual not a person. Only the possibility of that if it makes it to fruition. Just like a blossom is not a fruit. That fruit that needs time to develop. If it does not have the time it never becomes a fruit.

Biology disagrees with you. That is a human being in there at a different stage of development. A person before and after puberty is human, just like an unborn baby is human, but using your standard, only the post puberty person is a human.

Humanity is granted by biology, personhood by politics.

No it doesn't, you are seeing through blinders. Do you go to the store to buy blossoms or do you go to the store to buy fruit. They are distinctly different things. The correct term for a human embryo when it reaches the appropriate age of 11 weeks. The vast majority of abortions occur before it is even a fetus. So you can't even call it feticide.

Yes, we should have always been doing everything we can to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies. Now it is even more urgent as the states abortion laws are inconsistent. OTC birth control is long overdue. IMO we also need to greatly expand access to "morning after" pills and so called abortion drugs to reduce the number of surgical abortions and late term abortions (a.k.a murder).
It's an interesting strategy, if true, to preventing anti-abortionist attempts to make contraception and abortifacients illegal. Make it all so generally available and free of penalties that the anti-abortion right can't really stop it.

You called it a HUMAN embryo, which is my point. That's not a zebra growing in there, it's a human, at an earlier stage of life. Of course, the Lawyer Fairy hasn't sprinkled his magic dust yet, but that embryo is still a human embryo.

It's human tissue, it is in no way a human being yet. There's a tremendous difference.

Porn sites could be considered 'online birth control'. It's difficult to measure how many pregnancies were prevented because people stayed home alone and masturbated.
You laugh, but it's something that has been discussed often, usually as whether rape and vicious attacks are fewer now that men can more easily get those thrills on the Internet. I like your thinking that pregnancies may also drop --- that porn is yet another attempt at population control that the inchoate mass of humanity is desperately trying to lessen before we hit the Malthusian barrier. Easy divorce, women working, women's equality, open homosexuality, trannies, etc., etc. --- law after law is anti-natalist. So easily accessed porn is yet another way society is trying to stop the over-population. Huh!

The ONLY counter move I see to all this anti-natalism is the current rise of anti-abortion laws (in the U.S. alone). For that reason, I don't think they can succeed. It's going against the flow of a strong river.

I always say horse or giraffe. What a silly argument all that is: totally beside the point.

Never thought of it that way that way. So porn is good after all, actually a healthy activity. Thanks again.

And your defense has always been that it's a human being. It is not.

Biologically, it is a human being. Politically, the Lawyer Fairy hasn't gotten involved yet, so you can say it's something else. What's the difference between a baby 1 week before birth and 1 week after birth?

It is something else. Doesn't matter if you can finagle the laws to say it isn't.

IOW, you're certain it's not a human but you can't say what it is until the Lawyer Fairy gets involved. Biology says human. Are you a science denier?
