Obama's lead over Romney grows despite voters' pessimism | Reuters

(Reuters) - Americans are increasingly pessimistic about the future but voters do not seem to be holding it against Democratic President Barack Obama, who slightly expanded his lead over Republican rival Mitt Romney this month, a new Reuters/Ipsos poll says.

Three months before the November 6 presidential election, nearly two-thirds of Americans think the country is moving in the wrong direction. Only 31 percent say it is moving in the right direction - the lowest number since December 2011.

But Obama's lead over Romney among registered voters was 49 percent to 42 percent, up slightly from the 6-point advantage the president held a month earlier over the former Massachusetts governor.

Gee one would have thought that all the postions Mitt keeps changing to fit whomever hes talking to would have sealed the deal for him huh?

Robmoney will SAY ANYTHING to get elected.

Maybe its all that filibustering EVERYTHING designed the help the American people by the republicans?

This looks like groundwork. When obama loses, democrats can say the election was stolen.

Maybe its all the republican LIES about birth certificates, preachers, guns, showsulisem, Fand F and the like?

Maybe its Mitts thinking that he doesnt have to fill out his application for the job properly?

God knows, the efforts by the GOP to squelch voting is designed to do exactly that.
One of the GOP actually let the truth slip in a speech ... remember him?

i figure people keep waiting for romney to tell them who he is...

and are finding they don't like who he is.

I won't vote for Romney because he is too vague and does seem to fit his views to his audience. He was very left of center in MA because he wanted to be governor as a stepping stone to the presidency. If he is elected, I think he'll turn pretty much hard right to go along with a republican Congress and I'm concerend about some of the anit woman/birth control/abortion legislation that might get passed and also some other social programs. I'm also not convinced Romeny can fix the economy or create jobs. It seems most presidents haven't really been able to do anything significant. I'm and independent who voted for McCain last time around (would have been Hillary had she gotten the nonmination as she should have) so I have not party to be loyal to. I'm more of an issue voter and felt McCain whould have been less likely to rubber stamp republican legislation.

Show me where in the constitution it states a presidental candidate has to release his tax returns.

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

From your link,
The telephone poll of 1,168 adults, including 1,014 registered voters, was taken from August 2 to August 6.

This is a weak poll at best, they even poll people who aren't registered to vote. Certainly didn't give the breakdown to the numbers of R's, D's and Ind's.

Yep... they are desperately looking for something to pin on Romney, rather than asking the obvious question that we on the right have been asking for for years.... where is his college records?

How did he get into such expensive schools, and where is his passport for all the traveling he did as a youth?

Who payed for it, and what kind of grades did he get?

I mean you have to be a smart cookie to get into those schools... seems he would be proud to show thw world what a genius he is.
It would also put to bed the birther questions.... :dunno:
