NYC braces for 'tens of thousands' of protesters set to march on Financial District

Nice to hear something besides money speak for a change.

Do you know what this is about?

It's Citizens United (the Supreme Court Case about legalizing unlimited corporate money in the political process) VERSUS Citizens United (as in We The People marching in the streets).

March all you want. But break laws and you get to suffer the consequences. Those are the rules. Enjoy!

The goal of the protests today is to prevent people from getting to work. That's what they want to do. I've been watching the coverage, and instead of tens of thousands, so far, the shitters in New York are only a few hundred. Maybe more people just want to get to work.

Wait until the unions get there...

Does it look like this movement is waning?

I don't see Tea Partiers willing to endure discomfort, pepper spray, or beatings. So, which movement is likely to outlive the other?

Yep.... your right.

Those silly Tea Partiers have jobs.... abide by the rules, and dont get beat down due to that RESPECT for the rule of law.

So by that metric..... guess you win.

Just the kinda people the socialist state loves - people who don't get a beat down because they respect the rule of law.

It seems to me the tea party's methods were quite effective given the result of last year's elections.

Yes millions and millions of corporate dollars funneled through lobbyists to buy an election was effective, once, never again.

Actually, if you were honest you would admit that you have more in common with the Tea Party, than most people think. I'm Tea Party, I'm Anti-Monopoly, Anti-Big Conglomerates getting special Privilege, Anti-Subsidy.

Let the Market Place determine Value for Value.

You think Big Government will solve all of your problems, I think Big Government is the Root Cause of them.

Depends on what you mean by that. The Tea Party backers bought tons of commercial time to promote their candidates. So yeah..tons of money infused into elections generally has desirable outcomes.

 And the market place will determine on it's own not to create monopolies and conglomerates?

Oh man.

What I think is that a government in the hands of it's people and openly hostile to undue or destructive concentrations of power would be a far superior situation than we have now.

That is an Oxymoron. There is no greater Threat to Liberty and Justice than the Absolute Power of Government.

P.S.
There is nothing Just about the Angry Mob.

Oh man.

You still fail to see that the Monopolies and Conglomerates were a result of the Intent of Progressive Government, by design. I'm small enterprise, and have been forging my own way, most of my life. Gig Government is an obstacle to Free Market Principle, always stacking the deck in favor of big business. You fail to see that, and worse, give credence to the Oppressor, under false pretense and premise.

Ya cause no one on the left support wall street. MORON alert.

You know, the only people who seem to make the whole Occupy thing a right/left issue is the right. The Occupy crowd seems pretty resolute on the fact that they are in opposition to both sides, both parties, as being bought and paid for by corporate interests.

Not really. Years from now, you will probably find them employed by those very same companies. Talk about forging a new path that champions Liberty, Unalienable Rights, and I'm all ears. Lose the gadgets associated with those Corporate Monsters, and you might gain some credibility.

Naw.

What you fail to see is that the New Deal set the stage for a real middle class in this country and "anti-big government" types have been working overtime to smash all that to pieces.

They've pretty much succeeded. So you should be happy.

Happy now?

When was the last time a monopoly was broken up? It has been so long I can't remember. Is it even possible anymore?

but your sorry ass doesn't have a problem with the unions buying demoncrats.. doya?

Corporations buy Democrats the same way they buy Republicans. Unions are just also-rans.

Don't Taz Me Bro said:
Wall Street buys both, idiot. In fact, in the 2008 elections 75% of donations that came from Wall Street went to the Democratic Party.

Exactly. Anyone who thinks this is about partisan politics is a serious kool-aid drinker. If merely electing Democrats instead of Republicans could solve our problems, they'd be solved as of two years ago.
