Sarko is seeing clearly, unlike the NIE, which nevertheless noted that Iran continues to enrich Uranium. Sarko notes that the enrichment "has no civilian use" and violates international law. The Mullahs are intent on pushing this issue right to the brink and beyond, especially now that they are strengthened by the support of their buddy Putin and the apparent indifference, or even tacit approval, of the Chinese. Who is more irresponsible in this equation: Putin or the Mullahs? It is a toss up. Meanwhile we have former allies like the Turks doing deals with the Mullahs. Sarko cannot be enthused by the prospect of Obama who says he wants to talk directly about the situation with the Mullahs. I bet that has the Mullahs in a panic. The totalitarian Iranian regime sees nuclear weapons as guaranteeing its survival. This will boil down to military action or living with Iranian nukes pointed at the West.
