His "inaction" to enforce federal law isn't proven. It's a calumny by you. It wasn't that long ago that local law enforcement were prohibited by law from enforcing immigration statutes. It's very unpopular with local law enforcement.

Every copper who ever swore the oath has ignored infractions and not enforced a law where it wasn't deserved, you want them pinched?

If the feds have a huge problem with Newsom's position then they can ask for a prerogative writ - mandamus. Then let the courts decide. My money says they won't.

again...he only made his statement the other day. Do you have any evidence that he or any of his subordinates has failed to do anything that they were legally required to do? All you have is his statement. That statement is not inaction.

Yes it does. And the feds are required to enforce federal law unless otherise specified by law. As it stands, the feds enforce immigration laws with the INS, and US Border Patrol, and delineate NO AUTHORITY to the state, much less a municipal gov't.

The fact is, this is Newsome making noise as if he's defying the Fed, when in fact he is doing no such thing. The Fed does not delegate immigration law enforcement to state or local authority.

In effect, he's saying he isn't going to do what he never had to do to begin with.
