Conan O'Brien was a longtime SNL writer, too. Jay Leno was not part of any SNL team and got ousted when Michaels completely took over.

Obama knew Leno had an audience or he wouldn't have spent millions of OUR money to appear on his show.

Costs of Air Force One have increased 27% under Obama. They have spared no expense on their many vacations. I know, I know, other presidents took vacations, too, but things weren't as bad as they are now. Record unemployment continues and the future looks even more bleak, thanks to Obamacare. The Obamas clearly have no sympathy for the millions without insurance now and the plight of families across the country as they struggle to survive. They could at least pretend that they care, but instead they continue to enjoy the high life.

The Obamas appear to have no conception that the money they spend on a routine basis comes out of the pockets of those they pretend to want to help. They add to the burden at every turn instead of helping. It's not their money and they could care less about the hardships it causes for taxpayers. They are so out of touch with reality. Obama commented that he can do whatever he wants and his actions show that he really believes that.

He appeared on Leno at a great cost to us and there was no point to it other than to feed his ego.

I do think Leno went easy on Obama for a while, but noticed once he announced he would be leaving that he didn't hold back any longer. I think he got to a point where he really didn't care if any liberals were offended. Leno was relentless on Obamacare, as everyone should have been.

You seemed to have eliminated the fear of loss.

True, they were on top of the ratings with Leno, but they believed that if they did not snatch up Fallon, someone else would and that would result in a large loss of market share with no one out there to replace Leno with.

I highly doubt network NBC makes major programming decisions based on who is in the WH.
