I would think that a bonus check goes to the workers who are the most valuable to the employer so I am sure that you guys do work very hard for those.He does not have to spend his bonus check on a trip that includes paying someone else's way. It's his money. He earned his bonus. He can spend it or save it. It is up to him.

A long time ago we asked a relative what we could buy for their child who was about to turn 1 year old. Was there anything specific she'd like? We were told a contribution to the child's college fund would be great. I told my husband I would handle it. I had noted that a friends' child who I had watched loved this little rubber ball with nubby ends on it that bent out of shape when you squeezed it. It was one of those toys children age 1 or under love to play with. I bought the ball and boxed it in a nice little box and had my husband ship them the gift with a birthday card and I signed it, Happy Birthday! We hope you have a ball! Now I know the child enjoyed the ball far more than a deposit to her college account but we never received a response (or a thank you).Not much of an "invitation" if it comes with a $2000 bill is it?

The figure of speech...."I have bled" ; is true for me. I have went a 110% and then some. Been stabbed in the back, done wrong, mistreated, verbally abused, and have had undue and extreme stress put on me.

I think you should think about what you love doing, fjb. Is it camping? Going to the beach and renting a cabana? What is it that you consider to be a relaxing, enjoyable vacation? Whatever it is? Do it. Go alone, bring some good books, pack your favorite foods and drinks and take a trip! Enjoy your time off and have some solitude. Everyone needs solitude. You deserve a rest. Do it for you.

I think you should think about what you love doing, fjb. Is it camping? Going to the beach and renting a cabana? What is it that you consider to be a relaxing, enjoyable vacation? Whatever it is?
