McCain, GOP hypocrisy on Berghdal exposed

mccain used to be such an impressive guy. since he picked loony palin and cost himself the presidency he's bitter, angry and useless.

or maybe it started when he got push-polled by baby bush.

:dunno:

OK......let's put all of this into perspective.

Politicians are motivated by things other than truth. This is our fault. We reward them for having the audacity to take both sides of an issue at any given moment. Guys like McCain are clearly able to justify such actions to themselves. Probably by convincing themselves that the good things they do are worth forfeiting their integrity over. That is debatable, of course, but understandable.

President Obama is certainly not immune to it. There are several examples of him changing tunes with the passage of time or changes in leadership roles in Washington.

Does it balance out? Do both sides do it with the same frequency and vigor? Maybe. Both sides need to pander to their base in order to get and stay in office. Pols on both sides spend the majority of their time fundraising. Making promises that they are not in a position to keep.

So......a voter can only look to the motives of the respective bases and do the work to uncover which direction a candidate would take if he or she were actually free to do so.

In this case.....what do you think McCain would have done if given the choice with no political consequences either way?

god damn, this dude has zero shame

what McCain says Obama should do first, on Russia: sanction individuals, throw Russia out of g8
Obama does: sanction individuals, throw Russia out of the G8
McCain does later interview asking his opinion: "oh gee he kicked them out of the g8 im sure putin is soo0o upset"

hah, prick

Maddox needs to look for a decoder ring for her own hypocrisy

Step one
Attack the decision by a republican president to preemptively attack Iraqi because they have WMD that the intelligence community claims are in Iraq

Step two
Defend the decision by a democrat president to preempt congressional review of hit negotiations with the Taliban and hostage exchange because the SAME intelligence community claims the hostage's health is deteriorating.
