1. I deny knowing who Ward Churchill is. He's most likely some fringe figure that conservative media likes to paint as a liberal darling in order to frame liberals as having a poor moral framework.
2. In Al Qaeda's eyes, the people in the towers were practically viewed in the same light as Eichman. They didn't attack America because they hated freedom, they attacked America because globalization was a direct threat to their fundamentalist, traditionalist values. The "World Trade Center" was practically the prime symbol of globalization because of the business that took place inside. I am not going to waste my time on watching those Ward Churchill videos because, honestly, it sounds like a crock of shit. However, you have to remember these things appear differently to individuals and groups in different social and political locations, and from a fundamentalist perspective those in the WTC could be viewed as "little Eichmans". I am in no way saying I agree - and i openly denounce that view - but still something to consider.
3. If you want to look at some real liberal darlings, look at a multitude of other figures getting significantly more press and praise than Churchill will ever get. For instance, Elizabeth Warren, Thomas Picketty, and even Piven and Cloward are all more deserving of our discussions than this loon.
