So, in regards to Tillerson sitting down with house leaders, one thing that caught my eye was his account of the meeting between trump and Putin, since he was in the room when it happened. In an article from USA today, Tillerson said that from the very beginning of that meeting, trump was pressing Putin about possible Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Repeated questions from trump to Putin about it.

Tillerson had this to say:

"They had a very robust and lengthy exchange on the subject," said Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who was in the room. "The two leaders agreed, though, that this is a substantial hindrance in the ability of us to move the Russian-U.S. relationship forward."

Now, that doesnt sound like a conversation one would have with someone who just helped you rig an election. It sounds like trump was trying to find out the truth and to have it never happen again.

So, we have what appears to be an eye witness (tillerson) who was basically showing trumps disdain for Russian interference, meaning likely he had nothing to do with it.

Now, house Democrats likely know this too, which begs the question, why are they after his financial information? If no collusion was found, and it appears trump had nothing to do with it, then one would think the house dems simply want more ammunition to smear the president, things they can twist to make him look bad.

Knowing that legally, they cannot share his tax returns, they are going around the system and prying into his bank records.

Again, if there were anything illegal in his tax records, the IRS, the most powerful government entity on the planet, would have found it by now.

So, between no collusion, and the IRS, what exactly are you looking for? This is beyond the scope of invasion of privacy, and, even though trump is now a politician, he is still protected by privacy laws. His financial information is not required for his eligibility to be in office.
