That's what I said. You cannot use the government to force me to follow your religion. Many of you conservative types want to do that by teaching it in public schools and displaying religious monuments in front of court houses and such.

Uh I got news for you. Teaching comparative religions is already pretty standard in most upper-level schools. As long as it's handled objectively this is not a problem. Also. Seeing a religious monument is in no way "forcing you to follow your religion". It's a statue, or a monument, or whatever. I believe the courts have recently begun to see it that way as well.

Comparative religion is only a thing in private religious schools, and is total bullshit anyway. Just and excuse to push one of the various sects of Christianity on impressionable children. Indoctrination in other words.

Religious monuments on government property creates the impression the government approved this over other religions.

Um, no. My kids took those courses in middle school in our public schools, as part of their social studies/history courses. And if you can't stand to see a religious monument because it "creates an impression", you really are a snowflake of the highest order. Get a hold of yourself.

I believe California has the largest Iranian American population. What if they started erecting statues like this in their public schools?

Would that be fair to the Christian minority who attend that school?
