Every time some vessel attempts to reach the North Pole it`s reported as if this is some sort of proof of "unprecedented" conditions due to our CO2 emissions.
All summer long the BBC and many other "news" outlets bragged about Pen Hadow sailing to the North Pole and had he succeeded we would never hear the end of this. Right "OldRocks"?

I remember "OldRocks" bragging several times this summer about booking a cruise to the pole. Turns out that was as much b.s. as Pen Hadow`s "Arctic Mission".
Had Hadow made it to the pole it would be no problem to know about where he is or was, but the only way to get this information is on his facebook or Twitter feeds, which are not very forthcoming about his progress.
Now he claims he did not make it to the pole because there was a lack of funding !

British polar explorer Pen Hadow has pulled the plug on his North Pole expedition, citing a lack of funds and sponsor support. Hadow told the Daily Beast that the general economic climate isn't very conducive to ambitious expeditions at the moment and he was planning a big one. In the same article, he also announced his retirement for exploration, leaving a legacy that is nearly unmatched in recent history.

Which is a blatant lie because that`s not why he quit.
On his facebook page where he kept bragging about his "mission" they had to give up because there was too much ice:

A meeting of the four skippers was held led by Erik de Jong, with Pen Hadow present, and it was agreed further northward progress would increase considerably the risks to the expedition, with very limited scientific reward. The decision to head south, back to an area of less concentrated sea ice in the vicinity of 79 degrees 30 minutes North, was made at 18.30 (Alaskan time).

No way will the so called "main stream media" hang this on the big bell they way they would have if Pen Hadow or anyone else would have made it as far as the HMS Alert and HMS Discovery made it in 1875 / 76

No they don't, because nobody tries to reach the pole in a boat. You're imagining things. Pen Hadow is kind a glory-seeking dumbass "explorer". Everyone in the climate science field knew he wasn't getting anywhere near the pole in a small boat, and they thought he was an idiot for saying he'd get to the pole.

We do understand. You can't address what the rational people actually say, so making shit up is the only option open to you.
