I understand the need for advertizing but its getting way out of hand on this board. Having a pop up block the editor and interfering with posting a reply is just carrying things way too far. This seems to be the location of public meltdowns.
How can anyone avoid ads?
Better quit driving, taking public transit, watching TV, going to a stadium, a movie, or even a school event.
Advertising is everywhere.
Apparently it is considered effective.

The thing that gets me about ads is a question "who is swayed by them?" I honestly can not think of even one purchase that I have ever made in my 5 plus decades of life, that I can attribute to an advertisement of any sort.

In fact, if you want to make damn sure I don't buy something? Shove an ad for it in front of me.

So, I disabled my add on, and all I get is little ad a the top, and a little 'word ballon at the bottom off to the right asking me to check out something, no BIG GIANT POP UPS, or anything else.

Maybe you should just stay away from the Russian porno sites and the Chinese versions of Amazon and E-Bay, all that commercial crap.

How much do ad blockers cost per month? It's likely that if everyone gave half that amount to this board, there wouldn't be a need for ads.

Mike, I am guilty. I haven't contributed any money to the forum and I use a free adblocker. That makes me a welfare queen. I am ashamed to admit it. I should contribute.

It's free, but after updates to my computer, it was gone, it must be restarted.
I do not want to pull the plug on this board ... I would not try to go to another site given my poor English even if I am invited elsewhere. what i Don't like a little here is that I make followers and not all members follow me and it bothers me

Yet they never offer me the 7 figure salary I would get on talk radio.
