It's also the lib/dems at the federal level who basically took the banks out of the student loan business and took it over. Didja know that ObamaCare did that, counting on the interest income from student loan repayments as part of the revenue to pay for ObamaCare?

The original deal in the ObamaCare bill was to forgive student loans if the person hasn't paid it off in 25 years, now Obama wants to change it to 20 years and lower the monthly payments.

I went back to school at age 22, with a 2-year old daughter, and earned my degree in education...4 1/2 years later and $60,000 in debt, I sucked it up and paid back ALL of my loans by the time I was 40. I knew going into it that there would be sacrifices, and not just while in school, but afterwards as well. Now if we're going to talk about being "fair", then I want that fucking money returned to me if these little shits get out of paying their debt back.

-- Effective this January, if you're someone who has different kinds of loans -- guaranteed and direct -- you'll be able to roll them both into one direct loan and bring down your interest rate. You'll only have to write one check a month, and you'll see a discount. This switch adds no cost to taxpayers across the board.

-- You might remember that, as part of last year's student loan reform, borrowers' loan payments could be no higher than 10 percent of their disposable income. This is a big deal -- but it wasn't going to help anyone enrolling before 2014. Today, the President announced that he's speeding up this program so it will affect students next year -- helping over 1 million students.
