I didn't hear it until around 2001.
But, I'm a bit younger - and I was already into a lot of great lesser known 50's/60s rocknroll.
So at least I genuinely appreciated it.

It almost seems like he had the timing all planned out. He shoots all of those people , then the song starts right when he was getting back in the car.
I think that fucker timed it and rehearsed it over and over in his head.

Back when I was in high school there was a radio show on FM104.7 WIOT around lunch time.
At lunch time they would play a bunch of stoner songs.
And if they played something that sucked I could tune the radio to FM 101.1 WRIF in Detroit. BABY!
