Besides the fact that the Obama Adminstration didn't start until 2009, not 2008, how is it that under Bush, poverty jumped from 12.1% to 14.3% and you guys don't have a problem with that, but it goes up further do to the damage Bush did under Obama, and you guys suddenly care about the poor.

For obvious reasons, the poverty rate always goes up when unemployment increases. Under Obama, the rate went up and stayed up. That's never happened before. According to the liberal mantra during the Bush administration "it happened on his watch," Obama is responsible. Who are you going to blame if not Obama?

I would blame his predecessors for signing all the bad trade treaties that allowed jobs to be moved overseas, and even gave tax credits to companies that moved operations, to start with.

Incidently, I didn't blame Bush for the 2001-2 recession. The seeds for that were laid well before he got there.

the 2008 recession, that was all him.

Both recessions were set up long before 2001-2008, it was 80 plus years of Congressional policies and changes. It was set up and maintained by financial bubbles until the last bubble popped in 2008.

The standards to qualify for Food Stamps have either lowered under Obamination, more people are now poor and/or Obamination is doing a great job advertising those food stamps.

I'd say all of the above has happened the past 4 years. The Obamination Admin is spending MILLIONS telling people what "benefits" they can get for FREE from the Federal Government. People that thought they couldn't qualify because they don't need food stamps....are now living off food stamps to get their share before the party is over.

Normally the economy recovers from a recession and the poverty rate declines. Not this time under Obama. The poverty rate continues to climb.

The same effect with a different cause will be the result of states like Georgia and Texas allowing people to die on the streets because those states and other red ones will remove all safety nets. Of course being good Christians they will pray for those who die.

I know or know of a number of deadbeats.

what little work they do is under the table.
If they get a little cash they spend it on booze, cigs, pills and gambling.

They can't hold down a real job b/c they will be required to show up, work and not be stewed to the gills.

They constantly skip out on the rent and never re-pay loans. All of them get some kind of "assistance" from a govt. agency.

They could clean up their act but it might take some impulse control. Forget that.
