GOP debate tonight fantastic--very STRONG candidates

Should be.

You guys seem to like treasonous types like Jefferson Davis and Ronald Reagan. Or radical dry drunks like George W. Bush..the only man convicted of anything prior to be elected to the office of President.

Good on you.

All the crapola aside, if Perry wasn't a threat, you wouldn't bother slandering him.

It's like you have a glass head. We see right through ya.

Haven't slandered Perry in the slightest. I'd play you the clip..but it's in enough places on this board.

He can't run away from those words.

There's nothing to run away from.
The cited moment played out after an Associated Press reporter, Kelley Shannon, asked Perry after the 2009 rally if he thought the gathering reflected a national movement. Perry answered that it could be. He said people feel strangled by spending and taxation and they want help, according to an AP recording we reviewed in April 2010.

Shannon then asked Perry about some associating him with the idea of secession or sovereignty for Texas. “Oh, I think there’s a lot of different scenarios,” Perry replied. “Texas is a unique place. When we came in the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that.

“You know, my hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention,” Perry continued. “We’ve got a great union. There is absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what may come out of that? So. But Texas is a very unique place and we’re a pretty independent lot to boot.”

Rick Perry threatened to secede

And bob's your uncle? What are you talking about?

Not only does he say nothing about secession.

Instead, he says that "there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to dissolve" the United States.

Only Liberal logic can construe that as traitorous.

If the worst thing you can say about Perry is to lie that he is a secessionist then he is a lead pipe cinch to win.

Those are the relevant points.

Of course he sees no reason to "dissolve the United States". It's a way for him to talk out of the both sides of his mouth.

He's trying to code talk to the nuts..and assure everyone else..he's not really serious. But he might be..

And this kind of talk is deadly serious because of what happened in the Civil War. Or do the deaths of some 600k Americans not mean anything?

Not lying about anything.

And it's nothing new that conservatives would back traitors.

Like Benedict Arnold, John Wilkes Booth, Jefferson Davis and Ronald Reagan before him.

Go team!

So he didn't say what he said...that there is absolutely no reason to dissolve the United States...but he DID say what he didn't say...the only mention of leaving the Union was that it was an issue in 1845.

That makes perfect sense.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

P.S.- I added the "1845" back into the quote...somehow it was omitted from your post.

Benedict Arnold was a Republican? Who knew?

Yes you are a silly liar. Silly because Perry is not a secessionist, no matter how many times Rachel Maddow tells you he is. And silly because who really cares?

Here's the deal.

He's talking about secession..like it's an option.

The interview should have gone like:

Interviewer: What's your views on secession?
Perry: It's absolute nonsense.

End of story.

Benedict Arnold was a conservative.

Like you.

Rick Perry is radioactive. I'd love him to run.

His traitorous secessionist stance is a true winner.

Best endorsement for Perry I've heard so far.

So what you are saying is that none of them have been convicted of anything right?. Lets drop this to the democrat level now.
1) Ted Kennedy murdered a woman and her unborn child, he drove his car off a bridge and into waters and swam to safety while leaving her and her unborn child to die, it was not until the next morning that he reported anything to the police. They did not convict him either did they? Nope.
2) Bill clinton got blowjobs in the oval office, and no they where not from his wife. He should have been impeached but got away with it.
3) John F. Kennedy fucked Marlyn Monroe, adultery if you dont get it any other way. Another Democrat criminal in the white house.
4) Weiner......well...this is so recent you should know better.

And?

What's your point?

Non-Sequitur is a valid argument?

None of this addresses anything about treason..or electing people convicted of crimes to the Presidency.

George W. Bush was the first man to hold that wonderful distinction.

Secession is an option. When the people have no voice in government.

There is even a precident...the American Colonies seceded from England over having no voice in government...and their secession was also illegal and traitorous...and out of that illegal and traitorous act, the United States of America was born.

We certainly aren't there yet, but it is just as certainly possible that we could get there.

I had a previous engagement and was unable to see the debate and was hoping to find out how it went by logging on here. But not to my surprise, the liberals just pass on their dry ideolog that their lame president will win without stating issues brought up into the debate and how the president's record appears next to them. No surpise there.

But I wish some conservatives or independents would have brought up some issues the candidate talked about and their views. Instead I hear about issues a century ago and balderdash.

Disappointing.

I can't wait to see both Perry and Romney aside one another in the next debate, you know if that happens,we will be looking at the dream ticket,,,either combination! Perry/Romney 2012!! I am praying!

I'm hoping for a Palin/Cain ticket. And dont think for one second they couldn't win it. Just because the lame stream media says they couldn't win it doesn't mean the rest of America would not vote for them. Fuck the media, vote your heart and vote for who will constitutionally run this country. We are fighting socialist/progressives, we need to vote with the constitution, not against it.

Funny you trot out the Constitution and Herman Cain in the same sentence.

Cain has said he would never appoint a person who follows the Muslim faith to any government position.

Exactly how do you think that sits with the Constitution of the United States?

Oh, Sallow. Please don't misquote people in order to score points. You're better than that.

If Palin is the nominee, I can guarantee you that Obama will win. Do you want him out of office or to 'vote with your heart'?

I prefer voting with my mind, instead of my heart. Logic over emotion.

Cain openly fears and hates Muslims. It would affect his ability to lead fairly and would destroy relations with 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide

He is a nice niche candidate for those who fantasize about a businessman cleaning up our country....but he will be a historical footnote once the primaries start

No he doesn't. But it's beginning to look suspiciously like the left are very, very scared of Herman Cain.
