GOP debate tonight fantastic--very STRONG candidates

Yes, I think they all look good except for maybe Paul. He's just to old. And if Obama is gonna wipe the floor as another poster proclaimed then why is he losing in some polls, tied in others and doesn't have a commanding lead? This early most of the opponents are relatively unknown yet he has no lead? If unemployment is above 8% when the elections roll around he is done no matter what. My dog could beat him at that point. Even his ubl kill bump only lasted a few days.

Because he isn't campaigning yet for one thing....for another the incestuous atmosphere of 8 people going for the same nomination hasn't kicked in yet. Just wait...October is candidate season!

I saw the debate.... No one brought anything new to the table. Just the standard republican repeal everything obama, more tax cuts for the rich, and less regulation so corporations can further screw us. Same crap different toilet.

If you like'd the Enron scandal, vote republican...no regulations for business at all just regular bail outs.

So he didn't say what he said...that there is absolutely no reason to dissolve the United States...but he DID say what he didn't say...the only mention of leaving the Union was that it was an issue in 1845.

That makes perfect sense.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

P.S.- I added the "1845" back into the quote...somehow it was omitted from your post.

Here's the deal.

He's talking about secession..like it's an option.

The interview should have gone like:

Interviewer: What's your views on secession?
Perry: It's absolute nonsense.

End of story.

Secession is an option. When the people have no voice in government.

There is even a precident...the American Colonies seceded from England over having no voice in government...and their secession was also illegal and traitorous...and out of that illegal and traitorous act, the United States of America was born.

We certainly aren't there yet, but it is just as certainly possible that we could get there.

Then why the heck are you arguing with me about this? That's the position held by Perry and many conservatives.

Classic Milton Friedman.

To a "T".

Liberals and the left wing media have been telling us that this field of GOP candidates are weak--no one is interested in them--yada--yada--yada.

If you watched the debate on CNN tonight--June 13, 2011--the message could not be clearer. This entire field is STRONG. In fact the strongest I have seen in decades. Not a John McCain in the bunch--LOL. Every one of them had several home runs--they were articulate--gave direct answers--and are more than ready to take Barack Obama and his policies on.

In fact--after listening to them speak--any one of these candidates would cut through Barack Obama like a hot knife through butter. Why? Because they made SENSE. On the economy--on Jobs--and on the Deficit.

Michelle Bachmann announced that she is running for POTUS tonight during the debate--and she was great. Ron Paul got a lot of applause--he did great. Newt Gingrich--when everyone thought he was done--is not done. Of course Mitt Romney--Palenty--Herman Cain--and Santorim.

It was so good--I still don't have a favorite. I am going to have to watch several more debates before I can come to any conclusion.

Did any of you watch it?

Nobody cares; Perry will win the nomination when he gets in.
And he will lose to Obama if/when people take a close look at him.

You're fooling yourself.

Bachmann...okay PLEASE NOMINATE HER!!!!
Ron Paul...Dead Man Walking.
Newt Gingrich...strolling for President...Fred Thompson lives!
Pawle...zzzzz.....I fell asleep saying the name.
Mitt....it would be good to have another 4 years of liberalism in the White House.

We are counting on all of you libs to feel the same way, to feel so over confident that you dont put forth the extra effort, trust me. The more you feel you have it in the bag, the better off we will be. And the more laughable you will become when Berry loses it all. His policies are a failure, and it will take him losing in 2012 to wake you dumb bastards up.

I thought you guys said that because of his birth certificate "problem" he wasn't going to even be on the ballot?

Oh well, I guess that didn't turn out too well for the GOP.

Hey he may lose, but if he does, I don't see anybody on the stage being the one who takes him down. Perry may be able to do it; big electoral ante right off the bat; proto-type GOP candidate (aka rich white guy who wasn't rich when he got into politics), no compassion at all for anybody.

I think Perry cake walks to the nomination. But once in the ring; you have to propose something...stripping everything to the bare bone other than social security and defense spending is not going to go over well with middle America so a message of hope is likely going to win out.

Nice try--didn't work.

Ask me on a Wednesday next November...and we'll see. None of the people on stage tonight have a chance against Obama.

I am so happy that you are so confident, trust me.

Can't even come up with you're own graphic and have to steal my idea. Thats lame. Any need for profanity this early in the thread though?

Nice to see Richard Dawson--loved him as the host of that show--again. Thanks.

We'll see what happens.

I saw the debate.... No one brought anything new to the table. Just the standard republican repeal everything obama, more tax cuts for the rich, and less regulation so corporations can further screw us. Same crap different toilet.

Just how do corporations screw YOU, please explain that to me.

Ask those who work for ENRON and were there before 2000. Oh yeah; you can't. They were all fired when the company went bankrupt due to accounting irregularities...Good to see that the corporate bosses made out so well though.

I wish Huckabee was running. He's a good man. You don't have to worry about his motives.

Its a shame that the GOP doesn't have more people like him on the stage.

Oh well, see you guys later. Be kinder to one another...it's not worth all of the hate you're putting into it.

Later!

All of them have a strong chance against the Messiah the Reps did a good job pointing the utter Failure of this administration Obama has nothing to run on

I'm hoping for a Palin/Cain ticket. And dont think for one second they couldn't win it. Just because the lame stream media says they couldn't win it doesn't mean the rest of America would not vote for them. Fuck the media, vote your heart and vote for who will constitutionally run this country. We are fighting socialist/progressives, we need to vote with the constitution, not against it.

Funny you trot out the Constitution and Herman Cain in the same sentence.

Cain has said he would never appoint a person who follows the Muslim faith to any government position.

Exactly how do you think that sits with the Constitution of the United States?

Oh, Sallow. Please don't misquote people in order to score points. You're better than that.

Misquote?

Shouldn't she be (more-quickly) ramping-up her investigation of Congress....in-search-of the "real" Americans, there....before she gets too obsessed with a Presidential "run"??

Can she DO both, at the same time??

Here's what it really was:

Question: Would you be comfortable with a Muslim in your cabinet?

Cain: No.

He did not say he would not, he said he would not be comfortable. He did not say he would 'never' appoint a Muslim. He would expect a Muslim in his administration to put the country first. You may have a problem with a member of our Government putting our country above his personal faith, but I don't.

Here is his explanation of that comment.

Not lying about anything.

And it's nothing new that conservatives would back traitors.

Like Benedict Arnold, John Wilkes Booth, Jefferson Davis and Ronald Reagan before him.

Go team!

Benedict Arnold was a Republican? Who knew?

Yes you are a silly liar. Silly because Perry is not a secessionist, no matter how many times Rachel Maddow tells you he is. And silly because who really cares?

Benedict Arnold was a conservative.

Like you.

Not hardly.
But this is encouraging. The entire opposition to Perry is going to come from a spinned up lie about his views.
It indicates how desperate the Left is. They know they're gettting a major ass kick this election.

I saw the debate and agree. They all came off quite well.

Will be interesting to see who else jumps in.

I like Rick Perry and his State is doing quite well despite the economy. That says a lot right there. The leaders of Texas must be doing something right.

Perhaps Barry should take a little trip to some of those States that are doing great and ask a few questions???

That's incorrect.

Question: Would you be comfortable with a Muslim in your cabinet?

Cain: No. I will not. <Begins Rant>

It's pretty clear. He goes into an extended hate filled rant about creeping Sharia law in Europe. That's pretty nuts. You want this guy dealing with Merkel?

Not hardly what? Benedict Arnold was a very conservative man. He was for King and Country. Conservatives like kings. They like Monarchy, Aristocracy..you name it. As long as it "traditional" and "theocratic" and "homogeneous" they are all for it. Conservatives wanted to break this country apart in order to own slaves. They are a lovely bunch.

I didn't mis-represent Perry's views. He was talking about Secession. Simple as that.

Nope... he has it all figured out. Isn't that obvious?

What is it with this 'rant' shit? He explained his view and his concern about Muslims quite clearly and without 'ranting'. This obsessive need to deliberately overblow every sentence by anyone you disagree with is laughable.

I would be far happier with Cain representing us than some asshole who thinks we owe the world an apology.

This is just fucking bullshit.

and i'd be happier with someone who's rational and isn't a corporatist wingnut.

fancy that.

but then again, i tend to be allergic to racist scum like cain. i particularly am allergic to it when it comes from people who've been subjected to racism.
