If nothing is stated in the constitution that the federal government should be paying for mental health then it should not be funded by the federal government to begin with. And the last time I checked it is not in there. It would then be a states issue.

Hinckley by any account was an outlier. He based his actions on a film and a percieved romance with an actress.
Reagan was not actively passing legislation destroying the constitution and civil rights. Theres a big difference between Reagan and Obama. What Reagan was doing was adding 20,000,000 jobs to the economy, the Democrats could not in there right minds could not call him dangerous without suffering a huge backlash from people living in reality.

You see, that's what some of you on the left dont understand, democrats downsize the military so that republicans will have to build it back up, it's all about spending money and adding to the deficit for democrats. This alone, should disqualify him to be President. Aside from his racism and bigotry..he has no problem engaging in some real damaging and breathtakingly stupid behavior.
From closing down government over a perceived slight to making films and putting out literature and media that "intellectualize" his bigotry and racism..this man should have been purged from politics long ago.

The Jobs were created in the second term. That's when Reagan raised taxes and began working more closely with Tip O'Neil. You guys seem to forget these things. Additionally..tax payers had to save the banks and bond market. Again..down the memory hole.
And build up the military to do what? Invade, conquer and nation build? NOTHING in the Constitution authorizes invading another country as an act of aggression.
We haven't had a "defensive" force, as MANDATED by the Constitution..in quite some time.
