France Proves That Not Everyone Is Paying Attention

75 percent tax rate. Hell, why don't they just take it all.

Don't be an idiot. The rich run the country and they won't create a real 75% tax. There will be a nominal 75% tax rate, but so full of loopholes that the rich won't pay a third of that. The middle-class pays the government's bills.

So why dont they just raise it to 95% since no one pays it anyway?
I see by your rep status you have made yourself popular here with insightful posts.

TY, brainwashee.
A little more stimulus, a little less austerity, raising taxes on over a million Euros for jobs programs- this ain't armageddon - look at the UK for the tory/Pub non-solution- double dip and fewer trained for good jobs. We've had much worse debt in the past, and had a boom post WWII-we can stand a little more for infrastucture/job training/jobs bills. Under the Pub depression circumstance- a false Debt crisis, That sky is NOT falling- just an excuse for Pubs to cut good programs, stall the recovery with fear mongering and disfunction.

Tell us old wise one how 1+ -2 = 3? we would all be interested in your math skills. Please define sustainability. But then again keep the rose colored glasses on and fill that glass with some more of that cool aide.

FYI private sector manufacturing jobs will not come back to America until such time the corporate tax rate is reduced substantially. We are currently ranked the third highest in the world, and the only industrialized country that taxes repatriated earnings, but then again we demonize private sector jobs, so go figure, who cares right?

Listen, Rush/Foxbot-4.2 million private sector jobs HAVE come back- all lost since Obama inaugarated, and we don't need a Pub cronyism/corruption bubble AGAIN, fool.

Our effective Corp tax rate was 12% last year, DUPE. Unbelievable. Change the channel from the hate/propaganda...fer chrissake.:lol:

Sustainabilty is NOT the same old Pubcrappe/DEPRESSION, shyttehead. "I know, let's cut taxes on the rich, destroy Medicare, raise military spending, and lower the deficit (in 2036). Won't the chumps EVER learn? JFC

Reps are for RW morons, fool. It's like the Fox/Rush/Beck/Savage/Breitbart etc circle jerk of bought off lying tools. Nobody told you? The more you have, the bigger a loudmouth Ugly 'Merican Pub dupe shyttehead you are. You fegheads are hilarious!:cuckoo::lol:

The French election's lesson as it relates to over here is that when you hear Republican politicians/candidates going off on how they are going to make dramatic cuts in the size of government and the amount of government spending,

and voila! balance the budget!

they are feeding you a big plate of horseshit.

Austerity is a job killer, and job killers are vote killers, and vote killers are politician killers,

and no sane politician wants to commit political suicide.

So not spending more than you can finance and thereby avoiding bankruptcy is called "austerity" now?

If you don't know what the word austerity means, look it up.

Yes, actually, it is:

Definition of 'Austerity'
A state of reduced spending and increased frugality in the financial sector. Austerity measures generally refer to the measures taken by governments to reduce expenditures in an attempt to shrink their growing budget deficits.

If you don't know what the word austerity means, look it up.

It's a word somebody like Truthmatters likes to throw around but didn't understand before Media Matters started talking about it. It's become the new boogieman in politics.

We sure as hell don't like tightening our belt now do we.

Nicholas Sarcozy lost because the left has control of the media.

If a socialist is in charge they ignore events that cast their guy in a bad light, like they do in America, but if a Conservative wins they focus only on the bad.

Everyone has been hearing about Austerity. This means cutting back on government spending. The press pounces on any hardship this causes.

What socialists like Obama have been doing is flushing government with cash in the form of bail outs and stimulus. Problem is there's a finite supply of cash, so eventually the spigot goes dry. The uproar is loud when the sick and the crippled, special interests, and government sponsored beneficiaries see the benefits cut. They want to blame someone. Guess who gets blamed. The people that said we couldn't afford all of this Stimulus. The junkies need there fix and the left is there for them, they hope.

So if you wonder why Obama spent so much, this is why. He knows that even if he loses the left will still win....because not enough people are paying attention. It worked in France. Why can't it work here. His only solution is tax the rich. When the numbers proved this to be no solution he simply said it was a good start. Trust Obama.

Is America stupid enough to trust him again? France tells me yes.
French socialists won because the general population is more interested in free shit paid for by the taxpayers than it is interested in economic recovery and prosperity.

I can't help but note that you claim the highest level of certainty ("proves") but offer the lowest standard of evidence ("guess").

I have no idea whether the French media is biased. It's hard enough agreeing on what constitutes media bias, and I don't know anything about the French media. It is true that Sarkozy is blaming the media, though.

Try reading France 24. It's like the NYT on steroids.

Hollande's bitch is a major press person. She has orchestrated the campaign against Sarkozy.

Why refer to her as "Hollande's bitch"? Whatever you may think of her politics and her journalism, she deserves minimal respect.
He could have referred to her as a c**t....I'd say that is 'minimal' enough.

Bullshit. Government overspending thwarts economic growth.
Government creates nothing. It only consumes. When taxes are increased, wealth disappears from the private job producing sector.

France is, pardon my French, fucked. When a full-tilt socialist can win an election, it shows that those voting for a living have passed those working for a living. The tipping point has been reached. France is headed for (more) tyranny and collapse.

The conservatives of Europe are not the equivalent of our Republicans. They are more like our blue dog dems.... it always makes me laugh when US liberals in the US assume that conservative is the same here as it is there.

It makes me laugh when conservatives here assume that liberal here is the same as liberal there, same for moderates as far as that goes.

Government spending thwarts economic growth if the money is spent foolishly or wasted fraudulently. If it is spent wisely, it can spur economic growth in the private sector. For instance, public spending on infrastructure creates jobs and wealth in the private sector, and the economic growth generated is multiplied several times over. So it isn't always a bad thing. Of course, if too much money is running through the government, it can reduce the amount available for the private sector and be detrimental. The bottom line is that it's just not as simple as saying cutting government spending is a good or bad thing. It really depends on where the money is being spent.

Here is another thing; when society as a whole decides it's important to increase government revenues in order to pay for necessary government spending, that can and is a good thing. If those increases are used to actually balance budgets while running necessary programs that help everyone, it helps create an atmosphere of everything being good, and that opens up the private sector as investors then feel more confident. Right now, our horrible debt and annual deficits are a detriment, yet we know we cannot cut spending enough to even get close to balancing our budget, especially at a time when entitlement costs are soaring. This is why it is so important to actually raise taxes while making some long term cuts that will curb or stop the growth in our overall debt.

Then why do even conservative politicians throw fits when someone suggests, for example, ending a defense spending program that will shut down the factory in their state or district that gets the contract for that program?

We've lost half a million government jobs since the recession began, and what do people like you do with that?

You use its effect on job growth to attack Obama with.

Because they don't have the courage to stand up for their principles.

No, it doesn't. This has been disproved so many times it isn't funny. Outside of some few examples, the Erie Canal, the highway system, spending on infrastructure is a boondggle. Obama's "stimulus" spent hundreds of millions on shovel ready jobs and did nothing.
Government spending is wasteful and inefficient because there is little accountability.

France and the rest of Europe prove that the world is tired of the capitalist war on human life.

Sarkozy was a unpopular glorified glamor-boy .. and a warmonger.
