As some of us know, California was in a drought. But it came out of it in 2022, full blast came out of the drought. The drought was alleged evidence of global warming, so it is proper to point out that now it is cooling as evidenced by the past several years and this winter, CA is in a climate cooling stage.
Here is what is happening in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

From the SF Chronicle.
A Winter Weather Advisory went into effect for the Central and Northern Sierra Wednesday afternoon and is set to last until 10 p.m. Thursday as up to 10 inches of snow are expected at elevations above 4,000 feet.
The National Weather Service warned drivers to expect slippery roads and travel delays — and around 7:30 p.m. Caltrans shut down westbound traffic on Highway 80 through Truckee due to "multiple spinouts."
As of 8 p.m., the agency had no estimate of when traffic would resume. Highway 89 was also shut down at Monitor Pass, a mountain road about 27 miles south of South Lake Tahoe near the Nevada border, according to California Highway Patrol. Further south, Highway 108 was closed in both directions in Mono County due to inclement weather with no expected opening time.

Highway 80 is a major highway that is in many states.

Yup, it's why you read about the average temperatures, snowfall, rainfall.
They aren't static, although you wouldn't know that reading what the buffoons
have to say on this board,, or from the paid minions with their models that never come to pass.

I'm sure it's just a variance. :laughing0301:

Not to worry the leftists will find a way to grift off of it.
What about Europe? Europe is in a very cold winter condition that is not remotely normal.

The AGWCult responds: you fool of a denier!’

Warmer = Manmade Global Warming
Cooling = Manmade Climate Change

Last year CA had record snowfalls and it is predicted this winter it will be worse. Also CA is not the only part of the USA with such heavy snow falls. It seems the days of warming ended about 2 years ago.

Meh, they had a rougher than normal winter in 1944/45, one of the coldest in European history with the temperature going below zero on the fahrenheit scale.

This is like when a denialist has his refrigerator's plug slipping out of the wall socket and wondering a week later why the hamburgers are a little off.

Now can we have a civil discussion?

Get out of the house more often. Did you know that snowfalling isn't actually cold weather?

Also in 1962-3, when I was in Germany, all we heard all the time is it was then the coldest ever winter in recorded history. Say, tell them that when they claim the planet is warming will ya?

Refer to the temperature recordings of the last two centuries, and stop spamming the discussion.

Humankind has been keeping records on environmental conditions for so short a period that it is highly unlikely that there isn't a record low or record high somewhere on the planet at any given time.

We are in a warmer period than we were in the 19th Century yes. I will concede that 8 million people on the Planet vs the 1 billion people who populated the Earth in 1800 does have an affect on the immediate environment where those people live.

But despite all the most draconian efforts to force people to use green energy and reduce use of fossil fuels, there is absolutely no evidence that such efforts have reduced the CO2 in the atmosphere by a single particle. And human activity is such a teensy percentage of the increase in CO2, there is zero evidence that further draconian efforts to push green energy will make any measurable difference.

But then common sense or observable consequences has never been a strong suit of the woke left.

Humans have gathered climate and temperature records for in excess of a few million years!

Well we all agree that climate changes. This world might bore us if it never changed. As the population grows, as you adroitly pointed out, of course things warm up. But not by a toads tongue does it warm up as the alarmists tell us.

The OP was NOT an example of CLIMATE cooling it was Temporary WEATHER generated by EL Nino Dumping 10 rainstorms on California in 1-2 months.
In fact, 2023 has been/will be Globally the Warmest Year on Record, and more largely 100,000-125,000 years. (since the last interglacial).

HOW WILL TEMPERATURE CHANGE IN CALIFORNIA?

Average summer temperatures in California have risen by approximately 3 degrees F (1.8℃) since 1896, with more than half of that increase occurring since the early 1970s.
If global Greenhouse Gas emissions Continue at current rates, the state is likely to experience further warming by more than 2 degrees F more by 2040, more than 4 degrees F by 2070, and by more than 6 degrees F by 2100.
Some of the most impressive impacts of warming will be felt during short period heat events (e.g. days exceeding 106.6 degrees F). For example, if emissions continue at current rates, Fresno will likely suffer 43 extreme heat days per year between 2050 and 2099; 10 times more than its yearly average between 1961 and 2005.

It's easy to reingorce your feelings with your fellow denialists Robert. Maybe not so easy to address head-on what abu afak just told us.
