Does Florida’s “Don’t say Gay Bill” prohibit instruction on heterosexual couples?

The Bill states “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."

The bill does not specifically specify discussion about homosexuality.
So if a teacher reads a book about a family with a Mommy and a Daddy, isn’t that a discussion of their sexual orientation?

Is a book written about a little girl or a little boy identifying their gender identity?

According to the law, a school system can be sued if a teacher provides instruction about ANY sexual orientation …..Heterosexual, Homosexual or Transsexual
Schools should not be teaching this shit period.

Maybe we should concentrate on actual skills like reading, writing, math and critical thinking instead of all this other shit

What critical thinking are you teaching a Kindergartner?

The “shit” they are teaching is that not all families are Mommy and Daddy
A valuable skill for young children

And they can learn that outside of school.

There is no need for schools to "teach" kids what they already know.

But they don’t

These kids are being exposed to “different” style families for the first time. A teacher explaining it to the class makes it easier for students from non traditional families

Yes they do,

You are confused...reading a book about a mommy and daddy is not orientation..nothing sexual to it. Being a boy or a girl is not gender identity---just biological fact.

All kids have one mommy and one daddy.....

Because if you don't bring it up in the specific context of orientation and gender, you aren't discussing orientation and gender. Saying someone has parents, two mommies, two daddies, one and one, or (more commonly in poor minority communities) being raised by grandma and grandpa is talking about situations, not trying to explain about orientation and gender bullshit, and THAT's the purpose of laws like this.

Ok. Little Sally stands up and says she has two mommies. Bobby asks how you can have two mommies? What is the teacher going to say? You can? You can’t? Open your books to page seven and we are going to discuss the continuing dark ages on science?

Are you advocating we explain to young children where babies come from?
Do you disagree with the simple statement that every child has a mother and a father?

That's not the same as explaining where babies come from . It is in fact a very simple concept that is appropriate for young children

Young children do not need to learn about how babies are made you pervert

"You just can". Lets go back to learning how to use crayons without getting it on the desks.

This is UP TO THIRD GRADE we are talking about. Letters, Numbers, Phonics, Sentences, basic Math.

Maybe some shit about George Washington and how water is wet, and dirt is dirty.

Why don;t you read what I actually wrote.

If you have to follow the words with your finger and move your lips no one will make fun of you

I doubt it, because unlike progs, most people aren't hyperactive partisan hacks.
I would agree. Most of the people I’m around in my daily life rairely pay attention to politics…let alone vote.

That’s why I come here for political opinions.

Every little Democrat kid already knows that when a man that identifies as a woman misses his period he is pregnant and the baby comes out his butt after he gets his 16th covid vaccine for the year. Democrats are good parents.

So Harvey Milk in his 30/40’s only having sexual relationships with teen boys in their 15/16/17’s was okay with you?
Harvey Milk has been dead for 40 years

Matt Gaetz is still molesting teen girls
