A Heritage Foundation analysis from 2016 estimated that a $15 federal minimum wage would wipe out 7 million jobs. Hardest hit would be workers, businesses, and economies in areas with low costs of living. (like Mississippi where cost of living is 87% of USA standard.
Mississippi cost of living is 87.8% Mississippi Cost of Living

Liberal activists demand a “living wage,” but the truth is that only a tiny handful of hourly wage workers make the minimum wage or less (4 percent), according to the Employment Policies Institute. On the contrary, a whopping 44 percent of hourly workers currently earn at or below the proposed $15 minimum wage.

Now consider what the $15 minimum wage would do.

For a restaurant that employs 10 minimum wage workers, a $15 minimum wage hike would cost them about $170,000 per year. If the restaurant currently earns profit margins of 5 percent, it would have to increase sales by $3.5 million per year, or an extra $67,000 every week.

But that is not realistic. The likely scenario is that they’ll either have to cut working hours or fire some workers altogether. Either way, most people are worse off than before.

She doesn't care.....to her and the left wing, putting people out of work is a feature, not a bug.......out of work people are more likely to vote for democrats.....hence, a win/win for the democrats....they get credit for increasing the minimum wage, they get votes from those put out of work because of the 15 dollar minimum wage......win/win.

Yeah they ain't gonna pay those illegals fifteen an hour when they can pay them less than eight now them capitalist must live in big mansions and fly jet planes.
Keeping wages low and cost of living high is how the robber barons make their living.

As the economy gets better, wages go up......as we are now seeing...... putting people out of work because of left wing policies is the way left wingers get rich and accumulate power......making people poor is the bread and butter of left wing democrats.

Henry Ford doubled autoworker wages. He did not complain about minimum wages. Employers who can Only make it on Cheap labor in a first world economy need to fail.

The rich are not playing politics they influence politics to keep wages low by hiring the illegals and the visa workers...Corporations donate to both sides of the political isle to get what they want. Your stupid partisan dichotomy plays right into their hands because they can exploit the masses with issues made to split us apart.
Apple is a trillion dollar company someone had to work for very low wages to make that happen. When will you people stop supporting these companies that exploit workers in poor nations and leave US citizens with less jobs?
There should be no mansions or billionaires while the majority suffer without.

The obvious point being that one-size WashDC edicts do not fit all. They have no biz meddling in our labor/employer market to satisfy a political agenda or assuage their own guilt. Individual states and even cities have the authority and should be the authority to address the needs and values of their citizens, and the market itself does so far more efficiently.

It is a better system than strikes and less people die with a min. wage law.

Fifteen dollars an hour is not a lot of money even by Mississippi terms.

So you can see why AOC gets a lot of attention from the young kids because they are not the star spangled kids we were and they want things to be fairer...So do I.

Wages go up with artificially raising the minimum wage but not buying power

It seems that rich people who agree with you just won't give up their wealth. It would be a good start if they did. Imagine most of Hollywood ponying up their wealth to the cause. It be quite impressive. Removing those pesky taxes not just income and wage taxes taken off the paycheck would help also. thousands and thousands of taxes. Little ones you can barely see. But they add up. Boy they add up. Those with lower wages can live a lot better without them. When your socialism comes in full breast, either everyone sucks on that tit or the privileged jobs we have today will have to be lowered accordingly.

The Democrat Party is still playing The Role of Slave Master.

The don't want the wall.

They don't want immigration reform.

They want unlimited access to an endless supply of Brown Slaves to work on their Plantations.

How is raising The Minimum wage going to work when we can't cut The Democrat Party and their Wealthy Elitist Class off from Their Slave Supply of Brown People who work under the table at a fraction of minimum wage, IF THEY WORK AT ALL?

Cut off the supply of Brown Slaves
Cut off the supply of Meth and Heroin and other drugs

And watch America put it in high gear.

Vote these Slavers out of Office once and forever so they can no longer undermine America and try to tear it down!
