Do you think Democrats will take the House in 2018?

Who will have a majority in the House after the 2018 midterms?

  • Republicans

    Votes: 41 69.5%
  • Democrats

    Votes: 18 30.5%

  • Total voters
    59
The GOP managed to lose seats in Congress in 2016 even though they won the presidency. That's how weak that election was for the GOP.
Now they face a midterm that almost never goes well for the party in power.

The signs of wage push inflation are getting stronger and the blue wall finances are getting weaker. The D strategy of raising SALT and cutting services, as in IL and CA already, will do major reputational damage to the Ds by election day this year and even more so by 2020. I see no way to finance out but the default wave has been hanging fire for the last 8 years and once it starts the damage to the Ds will get much worse but no prediction of when from me.

The right wing should be taking the heat for that; why do right wingers believe the left will be losing seats in this coming election?

I'm a liberal. I will not vote for anyone in the Democratic Party and the above is why. Perhaps it is easier to digest if the right wing tells you?
Healthcare reform and a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage has been their platform. The right wing cut taxes for the rich.

who is conforming most to rational choice theory?

A platform is meaningless. It's nonbinding. The Democratic Party cares more about the package....what they are selling rather than the product itself. It's running out of steam.
the right wing has even less. tax cuts don't work to create enough growth, or we would not have massive deficits or massive debt. The right wing doesn't care about economics.

Economics is the softest science there is. It's all theory. Do you remember the Dem troll that got ticked off a year and a half ago and basically said undocumented workers were great for the economy and we would all be really unhappy when a new roof cost some $4000 more? That was some awesome crap there.

So, why would anyone put back into power the same group of people that failed to take care of business before? The Democratic Party did a major shift to Wall Street. They are neoliberals. There are those that might put thread after thread after thread up bitching about how the Republicans don't give a damn about working people or the middle class; but the Democratic Party was all about privatizing the post office, telling the unions to get bent, and faux privatization of the education system, interference in other countries to enact neoliberal policies, H1b visas, etc. and so on. The revolving door. They ignored the states.

Here we are 1 year after an election and they have nothing. They still don't get it. But, they are 100% sure that the masses aren't interested in policy.
the democrats are for healthcare reform and a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage.

We are still ten months away from the 2018 elections

As they stand now, Republicans will lose seats. Hard to say if they will lose enough seats to lose the House

A lot can happen between now and the elections

The Russian investigation is ongoing. If a major bombshell is dropped right before the election ...Republicans will suffer

Tension with N Korea is high. If Trump pushes us into an unnecessary war......Republicans will pay the price

I didn't even vote for trump, but if the election was held today I would vote for Trump in a heart beat..

Then you are more stupid and amoral than all those original Trump voters. The clown is out of his con-artist reality show celebrity league.

Perhaps his doubling down on his racism is what appeals to you? Or is it his family's kleptocracy that turns you on now? Or his pornstar mistress- wait till Mueller follows that money? Is it littlle DonnyJ and Jared's Russian money laundering that flipped you?

One wild card will be Donnie Jr and Jared Kushner

If they are indicted and Trump pardons his kin

The wrath will be taken out on the Republican Party either in 2018 or 20120

what do the republicans have? more tax breaks.

Strong Republican gerrymandering will make it difficult to retake the House
As it is, more voters have voted for Democratic candidates, but Republicans have a strong advantage

The wild card in 2018 will be Trump
Can Democrats retake the suburbs with a strong anti-Trump turnout?

That's how bad it is for the Democrats.

You think that tax money is getting to the people in the US? Neither party is going to make sure the people, the US citizens, get shit.

No.

And do you know why?

Because the bullshittery with Trump controls every little thing is nonsense.

I’ve talked with several democrats who are pissed about how their party has been acting.

I voted for democrats losing more seats.

Maybe in the Senate

In the House, Repubs will lose seats
But will they lose enough to flip?
