We have the capability to invade and occupy Iran and almost any other county in the world with the exception of China and Russia. But a war with Iran would not be an outright invasion. We may land limited troops in hit and run operations but no outright invasion is in the works.

You misunderstand the concept of 'invasion' Iran like other countries is a soverign nation. By our landing of troops even 'limited trops in hit and run ops' is an invasion and is grounds for retaliation. You are also misguided in your concept of our 'having the capability to invade and occupy Iran and almost any other nation". We have the capability to invade but the concept of 'occupying
is doubtful especially over the long haul (90 days +).

The reductions in our military and the changes in our rules of engagement make that unlikely.

What makes it even more unlikely is that the country is too fractured to have the Will for a major fight. I doubt we would be able to prevent an invasion if Iran decided to come here.

Like I have said to nausium... It is not our problem. If Israel must bomb or nuke or drop frogs from the sky on Iran..that is up to them. If Iran threatens us in any credible way we have more than enough weaponry and will to use it. That has not happened. It will not happen. We are battle proven and willing to fight. Of that the world should have no doubt. No...this may be a test of Israel to insure thier place in the mid east. Perhaps there will come a time sooner than later that the Jews need to PROVE they are worthy of respect and not just all mouth hiding behind the big brother.

We have been doing the heavy lifting in that neighborhood for a long time now. Perhaps it IS time Israel put up or shut up.
