What he did, if anything, and we are making some steep assumptions regarding the entire incident; is between him, his wife and God. He wasn't president, and he wasn't breaking any laws.

In regards to the payment, yes, I do believe it's possible he paid with his own money. He just donated his entire salary to charity, $100k isn't big money for him. Well, I think he would rather have the $130k, but it's not going to break his piggy bank, it would be a fraction of the cost of one condo in Trump Tower.

To me this isn't a big deal. I don't see a big difference between paying Stormy Daniels to keep quiet and the "proper" way it's done by paying a legal settlement with a nondisclosure agreement.
Also, why is it proper to pay for damaging information on an opponent but not proper to pay to keep damaging information from surfacing on your own campaign? Both are for the good of your campaign, right?
Even though the people bringing this up over and over are SAYING it's about the payoff, it's really just a way to remind everyone that Trump was screwing a porn star while his wife was recuperating from child birth.
