If we had an impenetrable wall it would solve this problem. No need to incarcerate those for illegally crossing the border if they haven't crossed the border. As long as families are isolated, it is far better that the children be kept with their parents, particularly young children. Most of these kids are from Central America, a long way from home with their lifeline of support an protection broken. It is quite clear that the Trump administration is treating these kids like this to punish their parents and that is just plain wrong. There are major difference in what was done under Obama and Trump in regard to treatment of famlies. The Obama administration held unaccompanied children for placement in homes which is what you see in the photos. Under the Trump administration, Sessions announced a policy to breakup families if they were caught crossing the boarder. The Obama administration policy was to keep families together if possible. Where Trump advocates as inhumane treatment as possible. Obama advocated as humane treatment as possible. This speaks to the character of the two presidents and their politics.I wouldn't think a cage filled with illegal immigrants would look much different regardless of whose president.
And yet you didn't give a crap when it happened under obummers watch. Funny that.
Well, the only other alternative is to send the children to jail with their parents. I don't think that that is a very good idea either.
There is no such thing as an impenetrable wall. A wall can be climb it, tunneled, or just walked through using boarder crossings which is what most illegal immigrants do now. Or you they can fly in via over 15,000 commercial or private flights a day, or enter via 88,000 miles of shoreline that is mostly unguarded. A wall or fence does not prevent entry. It just slows it down. Anyway, Trump has already backed down on a wall spanning the boarder. He just wants a piece of wall so he can say he delivered on his promise.
