Children are being held in cages, like animals

Yeah, we can read. What is written there, is lies. Just flat out, your source of information is propaganda and fabrication.

It's just left-wing crap to conceal the fact that Venezuela socialism destroyed their country.
If it was all lies, how come you haven't proven they were lies? Because you can't. You are the one lying. Where are your links rebutting mine? Answer, they don't exist. All you have is your own head exploding rage, that turns you into vegetable fodder for the picking.

Right. That's very interesting and still all false.

Here's a hint: When absolutely everyone is mocking you, and even those who are generally left-wing are not defending you, it's because you are full of crap.
ESPECIALLY when the left doesn't defend you. They circle the drain....er, wagon like no other.
I'm not asking anyone to defend me, right or left. It's not necessary. I'm asking if there is anyone out there who can challenge the facts? So far, no one has come forward. And I know you certainly won't.

So there you have it. Trump sheep with their hair on fire, who can't logically or intelligently explain or defend away, the geo- political nightmare that has consumed Central and South America at the hands of the U.S. government.

As always, the Right blames the symptom, not the cause.

You have to provide facts, before there is any need to challenge them. You have provided propaganda and lies. You being so ignorant that such propaganda has deceived you, does not reflect on the rest of us ignoring those lies.

You being fooled.... does not mean we are fooled, or that we are somehow obligated to challenge your foolishness.

There are dozens of people on this forum that believe in socialism. If your argument had even the smallest shred of legitimacy, they would be here supporting your argument.

They are not, because even the rest of the left-wing morons, are not fooled by the stupidity that has taken over your mind.

United States–Venezuela relations - Wikipedia

Chávez's socialist ideology and the tensions between the Venezuelan and the United States governments had little impact on economic relations between the two countries. On September 15, 2005, President Bush designated Venezuela as a country that has "failed demonstrably during the previous 12 months to adhere to their obligations under international counternarcotics agreements." However, at the same time, the President waived the economic sanctions that would normally accompany such a designation, because they would have curtailed his government's assistance for democracy programs in Venezuela. In 2006, the United States remained Venezuela's most important trading partner for both oil exports and general imports – bilateral trade expanded 36% during that year[25] As of 2007, the U.S. imported more than $40 billion in oil from Venezuela and the trade between the countries topped $50 billion despite the tumultuous relationship between the two.[26] With rising oil prices and Venezuela’s oil exports accounting for the bulk of trade, bilateral trade between the US and Venezuela surged, with US companies and the Venezuelan government benefiting.[27] Nonetheless, since May 2006, the Department of State, pursuant to Section 40A of the Arms Export Control Act, has prohibited the sale of defense articles and services to Venezuela because of lack of cooperation on anti-terrorism efforts.
So let us review what..... YOUR LINK.... says.

  1. The socialist ideology that was destroying the economy of Venezuela, had little impact on economic relations between the US and Venezuela.
  2. While Venezuela refuse to tackle narcotics in accordance with agreements with the US, Bush specifically waived sanctions in order to keep sending assistance to Venezuela from the US.
  3. For years after Hugo Chavez, and years into the decline of the Venezuela economy, the US remained Venezuela's number one trade partner.

Far from the US has been waging economic warfare, the US has actually done more to help and support the Venezuelan economy, than any other country.

In fact..... adding information from my own sources, Venezuela still recieves far more from the US, than anyone else.

We export to Venezuela, more than anyone else.

If this mythical blockade exists, then the US Government is proving rather pathetically bad at destroying Venezuela, when it allows so much trade though this blockade.

Families should be kept together in detention and isolated from the general population. Taking young children away from their parents who have not been convicted of anything is usually considered inhumane treatment. This sounds like another Trump fuck up in which he's now trying to justify by blame democrats in congress. What a piece work this guy is.
um, it's been going on a lot longer than Trump has been President. If you arrest a burglar you put their kids into foster care or a relatives care you do not keep the kids with their criminal parent.
It's been going on since the George Bush administration but it's been aggravated by Trump's zero tolerance policy. The people that are really effected by this are just pawns in the political struggle between Trump and Democrats in Congress.

Trump is blaming the inhumane treatment of families on Democrats in Congress that won't give him what he wants. Democrats will be feeding the media with the horrors occurring in the detention camps. And you can bet there with certainly be some serious problems with immigration officers trying to take care of hundreds of kids separated from their parents.

Aaaaaaaaand you seem to have missed the memo too. The pictures are from the obummer era. You know, YOUR hero. Do try and keep up.
I wouldn't think a cage filled with illegal immigrants would look much different regardless of whose president.

And yet you didn't give a crap when it happened under obummers watch. Funny that.
There are major difference in what was done under Obama and Trump in regard to treatment of famlies. The Obama administration held unaccompanied children for placement in homes which is what you see in the photos. Under the Trump administration, Sessions announced a policy to breakup families if they were caught crossing the boarder. The Obama administration policy was to keep families together if possible. Where Trump advocates as inhumane treatment as possible. Obama advocated as humane treatment as possible. This speaks to the character of the two presidents and their politics.

Well, the only other alternative is to send the children to jail with their parents. I don't think that that is a very good idea either.

'This is happening right now': Twitter users, including Obama's speech writer, slam ICE picture they believe shows 'cage' that separates immigrant children from their families under Trump - but it was actually taken in 2014
  • Images reemerged over the weekend showing immigrant children being detained in poor conditions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
  • They sparked fury on the internet as hundreds condemned the images
  • Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau said 'the only debate that matters' was 'how we force our government to get these kids back to their families'
  • 'Speechless, this is not who we are as a nation,' added Antonio Villaraigosa
  • Today, many of those tweets were deleted as people became aware the photos dated back to 2014
  • NYT Mag's editor-in-chief Jake Silverstein tweeted the pictured were 'still disturbing... but only indirectly related to current situation'
  • He added that it was 'a good reminder not to RT things while distracted w family on the weekend)'

The OP still refuses to acknowledge her mistake.
I use have missed it.... what is her mistake?

Oh come on, she posted the story in "Current News" with the article title "First glimpse of immigrant children at holding facility".

You know as well as I, that the implication here is that this is only happening now during the Trump era.
The photographs are clearly marked as from 2014 and the OP never mentioned Trump’s name. It could go in current events as the story is being recycled since new events have surfaced recently towards the discovery of nearly 1500 kids are unaccounted.

Thanks for the help. This is the debate. The link is admitting, that we didn't impose sanctions at the time, because we were counting on Venezuela to go all out for democracy. That didn't happen. We are also admitting that we were one of Venezuela's key trading partners. Therefore, there is no mystery as to why their economy turned into shambles from the sanctions and oil embargo's. The argument is a given.

We expected Venezuela to do what we wanted, not what Venezuela wanted.

Mind you, Venezuela had its own internal problems, but Socialism was not the reason for their decline. When Chavez used their own oil revenues for their own country, the people did the best, despite the extravagant behavior sometimes displayed by Chavez. He was very popular among his people because much of that revenue went to them.

Ummmm...he robbed the country blind. He used money that should have been spent on the oil fields, needed to maintain production, as short term bribes for the people. The price of oil fell, oil production fell, money available for give-aways fell.

Chavez fucked up his country in so many ways, but useful idiots like you still think he did a great job.

If we had an impenetrable wall it would solve this problem. No need to incarcerate those for illegally crossing the border if they haven't crossed the border.

What have we become?

Affordable housing, tax money responsibly spent on illiterate people we don't want or need that are free to go home any time they want to if they don't like it to ask the country who really IS responsible for them why they don't get any help or opportunity THERE. We didn't ask for them. I notice you don't show anything of all the free food and healthcare we have to give out to all those people.
