Bullies: Obama Administration Summons NRA to White House

So this is about children being murdered and yet LIBERALS CHAMPION SLAUGHTERING CHILDREN invetro..

Wow..

There will be no new gun laws or regulations. The ONLY item of business now in Washington, and will be for the next two months, is the debt ceiling. Nothing else will be brought up, and by the time that's over this gun control bull shit will be done and forgotten.

Biden is a jerk off, like drunk uncle at the family reunion. The leftist make it appear he's doing something when the fact of the matter is, it's nothing more than a dog and pony show. The man is a complete fucking moron.

Are you sure they need to go through Congress?

^ Yes. It reminds us that you aren't very bright.

NRA better be prepared!!!!
Obama and Biden's plan is to PR them to death. They will pull out gun victim after gun victim to gather sympathy for their cause. Obama and Biden will tell story after story about how guns killed innocent children. They will cry and weep for the victims. Hugging family members and letting them demand more gun control.
Then point to the NRA and say how can you be so cold hearted and not feel sympathy for these people.

Then one miss place word out of the mouth of the NRA will be jumped on with contentment. They will characterize them as evil, blood thirsty, closer minded individuals that seek to destroy society.

The NRA and gun right activist better be prepared to play this game or kiss your guns rights good bye.

Well, yeah, the President can hug a gun victim and the NRA can hug their AR-15's...

I think we know who will win that fight.

If the NRA is going to get put through the wringer it's because they've terrorized the rest of us for decades. Except now they are exposed as a very fringe and radical group.

That sounds very similair to the reasons Hitler gave when he disarmed the German population of their firearms.

Yeah, Skippy.....that's what happened......

I'm still waiting for the LIBERAL OUTCRY demanding ABORTION rights be HAULTED!
If "LadyGunSlinger" took the time to do her homework, she would realize that some of the highest abortion rates in the world are in countries where abortion is already illegal.

She would also realize that some of the lowest abortion rates in the world are in nations where arbortion is readily available.

The key variable in lowering abortion rates is access to contraception - something social conservatives don't want to hear.

American conservatives would rather put their faith in sexual abstinance - unfortunately chastity has not always been a popular alternative, even in the Catholic Church!

You're terrorized by a group of people who supports an amendment of the Constitution?

What a pussy.

I wonder if the ACLU makes him lay awake at night in a cold sweat?

Bullies: Obama Administration Summons NRA to White House

Vice President Joe Biden, who is heading up the President’s task force on gun control proposals, announced Tuesday that he would be meeting this week with the National Rifle Association, among other groups.

And his timing is just a bit suspect; the day before meeting with the NRA, Biden will be meeting with gun control organizations and shooting victims. Presumably, his welcome for the NRA will be somewhat less hearty.

We are focused on our country. Thanks for all the deflection dimwit.

Locked up for what?

That is the issue, of course. What should the procedures be for institutionalizing citizens who have not violated the law yet pose a risk to society?
According to others like you, the first step should be to check their politics. If they're conservatives, off to the gulag!

You libertarian and ultra right wacks are the super-political nonsense shouters, not the sensible part of America.

Tissue?

Maybe so but the stiff gun laws in Conn did nothing to stop that nut-case. He still got access to what he needed and new laws won't change that. Bringing charges against a corpse is a futile proposition. His mother included. The root causes are being ignored here. Guns didn't force this kid over the edge. Guns didn't allow him to walk the streets when he should have been locked up before he had a paper trail facilitating his commital.

So you want to lock up people without a paper trail saying they are crazy...

We could probably clean up all of USMB"s RWers under that logic.

On a serious note, the fact is Japan strictly regulates guns and who can have them, they had all of 11 gun murders in the last year we have data for.

Case and point... This thinking will spread. Then anyone that owns a gun for self defense will be considered a threat to society and will be stuck with a baseball bat and a cell phone to protect ourselves and our families.

Given a gun in your home is 43 times more likely to kill a member of your family than a bad guy that might not be such a bad thing.
While I agree that there needs to be more regulation on assault weapons--specifically-keeping them out of the hands of criminals and crazies--there is no reason to attack or ban weapons out of do right citizens in this country.

You'll find that criminals will typically "avoid" people and homes that they believe are armed and capable of defending themselves.

Really, you talk to a lot of criminals?

Had a cousin who had a stint of breaking into houses, and went to jail for it... He usually waited until he was sure no one was home when he broke in... So do most burglers...

ANd if there's a gun there, they steal that, too.

Speaking of Japan--a little ww2 history for you. When historians asked as to why Japan never attacked the homeland of the US--many Japanese leaders stated it was because they knew the citizens of the U.S. were armed--and they didn't want another front to deal with.

The NRA, under heavy public pressure thanks to the White House’s bully tactics after the Sandy Hook massacre, said it would visit the White House to “hear what they have to say.”

This is all a dog and pony show, of course. The Washington Post has already reported that the administration wants a broad swath of gun legislation; Democratic Congresspeople proposed eight separate gun bills on the first day of the term; and Mayor Thomas Menino of Boston, who co-chairs Mayors Against Illegal Guns with nanny Mayor Michael Bloomberg, said that Biden promised him action before the end of January.

So why is the NRA visiting? Because the White House has given them no other public relations choice. President Obama has singled the group out for criticism. The White House’s media lackeys, including David Gregory of NBC News, have grilled the NRA, asking them to back off their organization’s stated mission.

If the NRA doesn't want to go to the White House then they don't have to.

Commission of a felony with a firearm is an extra two years here. You mean gun control doesn't work?

Today in my local newspaper--a couple (while at home) were invaded by criminals who tied them up and rand-sacked their homes. It happens everyday in the U.S. Innocent people are killed every single day of the week by criminals in this country. That is a FACT.

It is also a FACT that when you ban the legal sale of guns to law abiding citizens of this nation--the only ones that will have guns will be criminals. All you're doing at that time is setting up the law abiding citizens for a duck shoot.

There are much better ways to regulate the sale of guns than banning them.

1. Require that the registered owner has a bomb proof gun safe.
2. Require that the registered owner signs a sworn statement that he will be in sole possession of the gun--he cannot sell to another--and that the registered owner will be the only one using the gun.
3. On assault weapons require a liability insurance policy-which should take some of the macho--gotta have this gun type attitude out of the equation.

Actually, that's an urban myth... The Japanese never had any intention of invading the US mainland. Wasn't even a war goal. Nor was that statement - often attributed to Admiral Yamamoto, who died before the war ended, ever uttered.

Their goal was to drag the US into a pointless war over small islands, that would go on for about a year, after Which Japan would propose a peace treaty.

However, because their attack on Pearl Harbor happened before their official declaration of war was delivered, everyone was outraged by the sneak attack.
