Black men are more likely to act like fools in the courtroom. They won't cooperate with their attorney, they are likely to act out. They might try to intimidate a testifying witness, stare at the jury, lunge at the judge and end up shackled and handcuffed. They want to use black rage as a valid defense. The support group that shows up for him are the homeboys and glitzed up whores.
By the time it gets to sentencing, the whole courtroom just wants this fool put away for as long as possible.
A white kid wears a suit and tie, acts like Little Lord Fauntelroy and usually puts on an oscar winning performance. He might cry, instead of justifying his actions. He won't be tough but very remorseful. His mother and father will be there, along with whatever grandparents are still alive.
By the time this kid gets to sentencing everyone feels sorry for him and thinks he deserves a second, or third, or fourth chance. 90 days will teach him a lesson.
