To Republicans "job creation" is code for tax cuts for the rich. We tried that for the last 30 years, and it has not worked. Why? Because 70% of the economy is consumer demand. Putting more and more money in fewer and fewer hands reduces demand. Raise taxes on the rich, cut defense, and balance the budget the way Clinton did. George Bush almost destroyed America. Let's bring it back.

I had more and felt worried about waaaay less .gov bullshit under both Bushes and Reagan.

I had FDIC insured CD's that reaped 10% under Reagan.

That’s more than nine times the dollar return an investor would have realized from following a similar strategy during Republican administrations. A $1,000 stake invested in a fund that followed the S&P 500 under Republican presidents, starting with Richard Nixon, would have grown to $2,087 on the day George W. Bush left office.

Obama ran on this in 2008. He didn't have the votes but went ahead with the rest of his Progessive agenda. He agreed that tax increases were not a good idea in a slowly recovering economy. He said his stimulus would jump start the recovery and fuel a large expansion of GDP.

His way didn't work.
