Another Politician actually does body slam a protestor, should the republicans condemn him?

Yes...though this happened while back....the mental midget....al franken, the unfunny comedy writer for SNL who stole his Senate seat.....he actually did.....actually did body slam someone.......and you didn't hear boo about it...

Notice how he doesn't apologize, and actually brags about his ability....

Should they have allowed him to become a Senator after this...because he did this in 2004...and they allowed him to be a Senator after he stole the election in 2008...

Wise-cracking funnyman Al Franken yesterday body-slammed a demonstrator to the ground after the man tried to shout down Gov. Howard Dean.

The tussle left Franken’s trademark thick-rim glasses broken, but he said he was not injured.

Franken – who seemed in a state of shock and out of breath after the incident – was helped back to his feet by several people who watched the tussle. Police arrived soon after.

“I got down low and took his legs out,” said Franken afterwards.

Franken said he’s not backing Dean but merely wanted to protect the right of people to speak freely. “I would have done it if he was a Dean supporter at a Kerry rally,” he said.

“I’m neutral in this race but I’m for freedom of speech, which means people should be able to assemble and speak without being shouted down.”

The trouble started when several supporters of fringe presidential candidate Lyndon Larouche began shouting accusations at Dean.

Franken emerged from the crowd and charged one male protester, grabbing him with a bear hug from behind and slamming him onto the floor.

“I was a wrestler so I used a wrestling move,” Franken said.

Franken was wrong and should off beeen charged.
Franken did not steal the election. Of course you are known to drink the look-aid of bullshit. Stop you lying.

You'e just whining because Franken is tougher than your right wing pussies. Oreilley won't even appear with him because he is afraid Franken will make him feel like a whiny baby in front of everybody, just like before.

And it's a pile of shit the OP laid out there -- trying to compare the two.

The out of control LaRouche heckler attacked people first.

According to Palace Theatre's manager, Ramsey, "the heckler attacked the security guards and the theater manager: Two members of Dean's security team immediately moved in on the man, who shoved and elbowed them, Ramsey said.

"He was screaming. He was out of control,
" Ramsey said.

Ramsey said he went over to help calm the situation and also got elbowed and pushed."

The Theater owner even said after, "I never met Al Franken before. He is now my new hero."

"Ramsey said a news photographer later told him Franken reacted to being elbowed by the protester, who knocked his glasses off.

When a second heckler "apparently working in tandem with the first" emerged from the audience, Dean security men and Franken went over to deal with him while the first protester headed to the balcony, Ramsey said.

While Ramsey pursued the first man to the balcony, he said, he saw Franken and three other men escort the second heckler out the stage door.

Once in the balcony, Ramsey encountered a more disturbing sight.

The protester had clambered over two or three people and had perched himself on the balcony railing.

"I thought he was going to jump. He was screaming at Dean. I was scared for a minute that he was going to jump on the stage and attack Dean," Ramsey said.

One New Hampshire voter sitting in the balcony said the heckler "kind of barreled through like a Patriots fullback."

"The way he moved, I thought he was going to jump or something," Wendy Branch of Northwood said. Even if he didn't intend to jump, he was setting himself up for a fall. It was a little alarming."

Little different story there when you learn the non-yellow journalism facts, eh?

I remember it - because I was in the area at the time and heard about if first hand, and a not long after, from Franken himself, who had an event at that same theater a few days later.

It was not quite at all as that NY Post article states. there were a couple of Lyndon LaRouche hecklers who were out of control. These assholes had been harassing all kinds of people, on the streets, in the hotel lobbies, outside post offices....dangerous, crazy, screaming conspiracy theorists.

Yes...he stole his election...this is from left wing U.S.News...

https://www.usnews.com/opinion/blog...-have-won-his-senate-seat-through-voter-fraud

The certification of Franken as the victor came only after a series of recounts dragging out for almost half a year. It also sparked an investigation by Minnesota Majority, a conservative watchdog group that compared the list of those recorded as having voted in the election against what Fund calls “criminal rap sheets.” The group found, in what appears to clearly warrant further and official inquiry, that

… At least 341 convicted felons voted in Minneapolis's Hennepin County, the state's largest, and another 52 voted illegally in St. Paul's Ramsey County, the state's second largest. Dan McGrath, head of Minnesota Majority, says that only conclusive matches were included in the group's totals. The number of felons voting in those two counties alone exceeds Mr. Franken's victory margin.

Thus far no one is calling for the results to be overturned. Indeed Dan McGrath, who spearheaded the inquiry, told Fox News, "We aren't trying to change the result of the last election. That legally can't be done." He added: “We are just trying to make sure the integrity of the next election isn't compromised."

It's assault in the same way as the incident with the reporter. Neither was threatening the other.

There are differences.....franken charged two people who were not in his proximity......his attack is worse.......he picked up a guy from behind and then actually did body slam him......he is nuts.

There are no differences - both are assault. And consider, the reporter was not only body slammed but grabbed by the throat and punched several times.

Both actions are inexcusable.

Nope, that story changed too, he wasn't grabbed by the throat.
That reported refused to leave and wasn't welcome in the office, which is private property. The Dem schill put his hands on the Republican first.

According to witnesses the reporter never touched the politician. He was grabbed "by the neck"...kind of has to be the throat.

Love your double standards.

Journalist recounts candidate's alleged assault on reporter
As the crew was setting up, Gianforte was approached by the Guardian’s Ben Jacobs, who put a voice recorder “to Gianforte’s face and began asking if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act,” the Republican replacement for the Affordable Care Act, she wrote.

“Gianforte,” Acuna wrote, “told him he would get back to him later. Jacobs persisted with his question. Gianforte told him to talk to his press guy, Shane Scanlon.”

“At that point,” she wrote, “Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him.”

...Acuna and her crew “watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, ‘I’m sick and tired of this!’”

She walked back the grabbing the throat comment...said she may have mistated that part.....

And again....the attack by franken was completely different.....he attacked the protestor....you know...someone who was simply shouting from a distance at howard dean during a rally.....he ran up behind the guy and actually body slammed him.......that is far worse than what the politician did.....

She walked it back to hands on either side of the neck. The only difference it makes is to those trying to excuse him.

And you think the situations were the same? Pathetic try, but I guess it's all you got.

You are right, they are not the same......franken actually attacked the guy in the crowd.....did you read the quote dipshit....franken the psycho, charged the protestors on his own...they did not confront him, he was not defending himself....he attacked them....

So are riots, destruction of property, and blocking traffic to the point that man dies.

Get back to Me when you show the exact same amount of outrage at the violence from the left.

I personally think that we need more of it. Start pushing back physically until the left realizes that civility starts with them as well as us.

So are riots, destruction of property, and blocking traffic to the point that man dies.

Totally. Have I ever said different.

Although I think the man dying turned out to be an urban legend....

Get back to Me when you show the exact same amount of outrage at the violence from the left.

Deflection noted.

I personally think that we need more of it. Start pushing back physically until the left realizes that civility starts with them as well as us.

Well thanks for being clear. Violence is ok as long as it's against the "other side".

Pathetic.

You are right, they are not the same......franken actually attacked the guy in the crowd.....did you read the quote dipshit....franken the psycho, charged the protestors on his own...they did not confront him, he was not defending himself....he attacked them....

Franken emerged from the crowd and charged one male protester, grabbing him with a bear hug from behind and slamming him onto the floor.

moron...

It's assault in the same way as the incident with the reporter. Neither was threatening the other.

There are differences.....franken charged two people who were not in his proximity......his attack is worse.......he picked up a guy from behind and then actually did body slam him......he is nuts.

It used to be that violence was never okay. Now, however; violence is never okay when the right does it. Still okay when the left does it, so yes. Your deflection is noted.

The left wishes to fight a war, then be prepared to be bloodied. I no longer care who is upset about it.

No.....the difference is choking vs. holding someone.......

So he could be thrown to the ground and punched out. Quit trying to justify it.

I already posted that I didn't justify it.....I would still vote for him over a democrat.

You are working hard to show that "the other" side did it too and "where is the condemnation" by digging up a twelve year old incident - even though the Frankin story ended up being a bit different then presented...you are making a big point about minor things in the assault (grabbing by the neck vs grabbing by the throat) and ignoring the fact he was slammed to the ground and punched. There is no self defense or defense of other involved. It's a loss of control because some one was annoying. Worse, his campaigns initial statement blaming the reporter for grabbing him first, an account completely debunked by witness'.

It's your right to vote for him based on party and issues but don't pretend that what he did was in any way excusable.

Other than defense violence is NEVER ok, are we bunch of chimpanzees or rational people?

Where have I justified it? I'll wait.

Let me repeat....I did not excuse what he did.....what he did was wrong. I would still vote for him over the democrat.
