P F Tinmore, et al,
What is Colonialism??? (RHETORIC) We've heard this many time in the course of these discussions; implying that the immigration is some sort of invasion or colonial exploitation. This is the endless accusation that dates well before Independence.
The conflict (Arab-Israeli) is all about the Arab League legacy to the Palestinians in dismantling of the nation-state (Israel) and the replacement of the most successful autonomous government with the most dysfunctional regional government (less Syria).
National Self-Determination was the guiding principle illuminated in the 20th Century. Carried to an extreme, absolute --- Self-Determination gives you such states as Somalia, South Sudan/Sudan, Yemen, and Syria (just to mention a few). The basic colonized peoples ought to be able to “self-define” how they are governed. And that lead to a Region border by the Mediterranean to the west, and on an arc from Georgia to Kuwait, from Kuwait to Jeddah, and from Jeddah to the Mediterranean. And in that Region, only Israel is a country considered stable; outside the zone of what is considered either a "Failed State" or a near Failed State.
The claim of colonialism is made purely on the issue of sympathy and to stir the emotions. It is well understood that the pro-Palestinians have redefined the standard for "Colonialism" outside of the normally accepted standard used by Committee 24.
Most Respectfully,
R

Committee of 24 (Special Committee on Decolonization)
The Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence of Colonial Countries and Peoples (also known as the Special Committee on decolonization or C-24), the United Nations entity exclusively devoted to the issue of decolonization, was established in 1961 by the General Assembly with the purpose of monitoring the implementation of the Declaration [General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV) of 14 December 1960].
The Special Committee annually reviews the list of Territories to which the Declaration is applicable and makes recommendations as to its implementation. It also hears statements from NSGTs representatives, dispatches visiting missions, and organizes seminars on the political, social and economic situation in the Territories. Further, the Special Committee annually makes recommendations concerning the dissemination of information to mobilize public opinion in support of the decolonization process and observes the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories.

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s remarks to the Security Council said:First: the critical links between development and security. Nothing can justify terrorism — ever. No grievance, no goal, no cause can excuse terrorist acts. At the same time, we must remove the conditions that feed the problem. Terrorism festers where conflicts are endemic and where human rights, human dignity and human life are not protected and impunity prevails. SOURCE: SG/SM/14764-SC/10883 15 JANUARY 2013

(COMMENT)They are all responses to Israeli settler colonialism. Now, were these actions religious? - OR - Where these incidents the actions of patriots and loyalists?
