A REAL Christian

Of the 2 entities, atheist and Christian, only the Christian fed that man. Where were all the born good atheist kids? It was a Christian boy that asked God to bless the man's food.

So if you are in need of charity, which of the two would you rather have notice your plight?
Only one "christian" fed the man. If I'm in need of charity, I suppose I shouldn't expect a charitable bite of food from the overwhelming majority of Christians.
You would...tell me about all of the Atheist food kitchens and pantries that serve the poor throughout America.

No matter what city you live in...there is a Christian church or organization helping the needy n a number of ways from food to workplace training to benevolence funds to get electricity and water turned back on.

Where are the athieists?

In other words...if you need charity, you would seek out Christian organizations...not atheists,
There are non denominational agencies that offer assistance to the needy.

Where were all the benevolent Christians that failed this man till now?
What non-denominational agency exists for this man outside of government.

And...where were the Christians that failed this man...how do you know they did? Are Christians supposed to follow this man around and serve him?
You can check with your local / municipal government. At least where I live, there are Township and County programs that offer food and shelter for the needy.

Don't you find it just a bit self-serving to launch into these chest heaving "feel goods" when it wasn't a christian charity that did anything for the man. It was one individual. Did you somehow overlook that?

At least with Christians, you have hope. Left solely to atheists, prepare to starve to death.....

  • Josiah Duncan saw a disheveled man outside a Waffle House in Prattville, Alabama and his mom Ava Faulk explained he was homeless
  • When 'nobody waited' on him inside Josiah asked if he needed a menu
  • Faulk said the man insisted on getting a simple cheeseburger but she told him to get anything he wanted
  • Josiah insisted on singing a blessing with the man before he began his meal

Of the adults who passed him by, looked the other way, ignored him and refused to wait on him - how many of them would say they are "christian"?

What's really sad about this is that its so rare for a homeless person to be helped, or even noticed, it makes headlines when it does happen.

What I find sad is the news media using even a testimony of God's goodness to attack His own people with. Christians helping homeless people is not rare - it is happening in cities across America every single day but admitting this would not be convenient to those who hate God. It is certainly a sign of the times when we see such a report as this one. Yet? God is in it still! What I found remarkable was the boys name. Josiah. This is a Christian name. Josiah was appointed the king of Israel at the age of 8 years old. He eliminated pagan worship and called for the people to renew their covenant with God. He tore down and destroyed the high places (shrines to Baal) and celebrated Passover.

He found a Bible and read the first five books out loud to the people (First five books of Bible we have today) and called for the people to return to the LORD. It was a great time of revival! Unfortunately when he died the people returned to their sins and the judgment of God fell on Judah - she was no more. (gone) Interesting fact - Josiah removed the shrines to Baal and Asherah in Jerusalem. He fulfilled the prophecy given 300 years earlier in king Jereboam's day and shut down the shrines to temple prostitution and human sacrifice. Today if one examines Obama's administration you cannot miss the similarities between him and Jereboam. Josiah was the final sign of God's kindness - before judgment fell on Judah.

Another thought - California is now on their 3rd year of a drought. Before Elijah was sent to challenge the false prophets of Baal and destroy the stronghold of the occult over Israel and bring it to an end - Israel was already in 3 years of drought. It was after Elijah slew the false prophets of Baal - openly showing God is alive and all powerful while the false prophets of Baal were unable to obtain help or any answer - that the rain fell - and Baal worship was erased from the land.
what do you know about being a christian?

you need to accept god's love in your heart.

What an idiotic thing to say.

It's a great story and a good reminder, but I don't think it's as rare as you suggest it is, brother. People, Christian and non-Christian, help others all the time. Whether it's giving money or food to a homeless person on the street, giving to charity to provide shelters, volunteering at shelters, handing out blankets in the winter, etc, it happens more than people realize. What makes this story great is that it involves a small child and the saying of grace. And someone just happened to get a picture of it and alert the media for a 'feel-good story'...which is great. We need more of those in the world, but just because you did not see a person help someone in need doesn't mean they didn't do it.

Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

And the government had nothing whatsoever to do with helping this man. It shows how far we've fallen that some consider paying taxes to be "charitable".

That's not Biblical. Smart, but not Biblical.

There are a lot of good things happening everyday. People are, for the most part, decent to one another. It's just not deemed newsworthy. That's the truly sad part: sex and violence sell, peoples' everyday kindness and generosity do not.
When will we divest ourselves of this aspect of our nature? :dunno:

christians might be amazed..the bible actually answers the question....what would jesus do?

Have a look at my signature, bones. ;)

Let's look at that sig line. Of all the kind, merciful acts rendered by Jesus Christ, you choose one act of defiance committed against thieves, in which no furniture was hurled at them, no one was injured, but merely the turning over of the crook's tables, in defense of their victims, to portray Christ and His followers as violent.

Then we have the OP who uses the kind act of a Christian, to vilify Christians.

Here is a more acceptable option if you want to portray Christ:
Love one another.

Think how much we'd accomplish if we did.

 Well actually according to John he whipped the shit out of them. The point is that Jesus did not always deal with things passively. Sometimes he flipped a fucking bitch and kicked someone's ass.

Build a man on fire, he will be warm for a day; light a man on fire, he will be warm the rest of his life

luddie if you are searching...this is not the place to do it....she is as false as scientology

If Luddly is searching for Jesus Christ - the Scriptures of the King James Version Bible is where to go to find the answers. Not the occult, Strollingbones.

What has the occult done for you other than to fill your heart with bitterness and hatred for Christians and Jews? Your misery is not caused by me or any other born again Christian on this board. It is most certainly not caused by those in your life who are Christians - be that co workers - extended family - whoever - put the blame where it belongs, Strollingbones. Your misery is caused by your own rebellion against Jesus Christ. You are the mortal enemy of your own soul. Satan has blinded you from seeing the truth - you are living in darkness and this is why the light of the Gospel disturbs you so greatly. It is reminding you of something you do not want to consider. That without Christ you are like a condemned prisoner on death row awaiting your execution date. Once you leave this earth? You're doomed.
It will be too late to repent. Today is the day of Salvation for you. TODAY.

Your post vividly reminded me of something Gurnall once said back in the 1600's.

This is what he said,

William Gurnall:

To a sinner, the light of truth is more blistering than a desert sun at mid-day (John 3:19). He shuns to walk where it is shining, and when exposed to it, will spare no expense to get relief. Satan is always at his elbow, ready to help him find a way to hide from its penetrating rays. Does he hear the truth in a powerful sermon? Satan will sit alongside him in the pew and whisper nonsense to distract him. He may ask him his plans for dinner, or what is on the docket for tomorrow. And if the sermon gets too hot, the devil will lull his senses, and get him to snooze until service is over.
Suppose a man's conscience strains toward the truth. Satan may then send him to hear a cool preacher, whose senseless prattle will tickle his fancy rather than prick his conscience. Oh, he may preach from the word of God, but he does it gingerly. He is too cowardly to use the Sword of the Spirit in all its might and power, lest he "offend" some members of his congregation. Many who dare to handle the truth and even admire it when encased in a scabbard would faint on the spot to see it drawn and bared.
Both sin and darkness cause distress. What could the Egyptians do under the plague of darkness but sit still and hope it would pass? A man in a state of sin (or a woman) is under the same plague. He can do nothing profitable until God lifts the darkness from his soul. The epitaph of every impenitent sinner could fitly read: "Here lies one who never did an hour's work for God."

And if he does God no service while kept in the darkness, neither can he help himself. Pity the man whose darkness hides the disservice he does to his own soul! He is like one who stands helplessly in a dark cellar, supposing himself trapped and doomed to die. But if a candle were lit, he would find the key to the door within easy reach. Christ is the candle that lights the way out of man's darkness.

William Gurnall - from Christian in Complete Armor - March 27 Dev.

Ask the LORD to forgive your sins, your wicked rebellion and agree with him about your current state (lost sinner) - ask Him to lift the darkness from your soul that you may see the truth of who He is and receive him as your Lord and Savior. (Romans 10:9,10)
