The cops in Missouri all deserve a damn medal for restraint. Look up the history of riots. People die. Often at the hands of cops, and sometimes the cops are the ones killed.

Police in Missouri dealt with a full week of riots and/or looting. And NOT A SINGLE rioter, protester, or cop has died as a result. Not even a serious injury!!!!

People will bitch about "militarized" equipment. But they don't realize its for their own good. Why? Supreme Court case Graham vs Connor says police lethal force must be "reasonable and necessary".

The MORE protection a cop has at his disposal, the LESS he can justify that he was in danger.

So, a cop with a helmet and big vest and big gun and an armored car to hide behind........is in LESS danger than cops dressed like Andy Griffith. MEANING....its harder for them to justify high level force, because they are highly protected.

Morons wont understand that though.

Great job Missouri cops. A week of riots, and the worst thing that happened was some pepper spray gas and a couple cops making improper comments? No deaths? No serious injuries? Yeah, that's a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED if I've ever seen one.

Of 163 arrests since shooting, 7 from Ferguson, Mo.
Aug 21st 2014 1:48PM

ERGUSON, Mo. (AP) - Unrest in Ferguson since Michael Brown's death has resulted in 163 arrests in the area where protesters have gathered nightly, and although the majority of those arrested are Missourians just seven live in the St. Louis suburb where the shooting occurred, authorities said Thursday.

St. Louis County spokeswoman Candace Jarrett provided the arrest list, the crimes they are charged with, and their addresses and years of birth. Many are from communities near Ferguson, but just seven are from Ferguson, where a white police officer shot the black 18-year-old on Aug. 9.

The shooting has spurred protests, along with looting and rioting. Police have come under gunfire and been targeted with Molotov cocktails and bricks. They've also been accused of instances of heavy-handedness and unnecessary arrests, including some journalists.

Most of the arrests have been shortly before and after midnight. The tally shows that 128 people have been cited for failure to disperse, 21 for burglary-related charges, four for assaulting police officers. Others were charged with crimes such as trespassing, peace disturbance and destruction of private property.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, in charge of securing Ferguson, said just six people were arrested at protests Wednesday night, compared to 47 the previous night, providing hope among law enforcement leaders that tensions may be beginning to ease.

Hmmmmm. Very interesting. I have also given some consideration to the fact that all of this "terrible savage violence" has resulted in very few casualties.

The image that our USMB nutjobs would have us believe is one of complete chaos. Those lawless negroes running free in the streets with nothing but destruction on their minds. One of people with so little regard for themselves or others that they would kill at will and destroy their own neighborhood.

And....the ratings based news media.....who USMB nutters claim is complicit in trying to portray white people in a bad light......fueled this image. So...what we see is looped video of a few skirmishes and the odd molotav cocktail.

In reality.......these protesters are very civilized and well intentioned. They did much to police themselves, I believe. Given that their grievances are real......and not confined to the yet unknown facts of the Brown shooting...the lack of widespread death and destruction stands in their favor.

I would have preferred less harassment of protestors & more dead or arrested looters. Thankfully few protestors were killed or seriously injured.

An important point, out of twon criminals coming for a 'score'. And yes LE showed restraint.
