This is a wise follow up for Trump, phone calls are too risky. The EU need to do more, the U.K military is a shadow of its old self. Both France and the U.K have fewer and fewer citizens willing to fight for liberty or country. Meet with Zelensky, make him aware there must be some give and take from both sides, advise him that the EU need to do more while supporting his right to defend his country. Live updates: Trump meets Putin in Alaska for Ukraine talks

Zelensky is the one person with his nose in this, directly in it. It's his country that was attacked, regardless of the ugly spin.

If he decides it's time to give in on something, I'll trust him to know what's best for his country. If not, and if he and Europe think he can wait Russia out until it implodes, he should be supported.

But I think he knows that he can't take anything Trump tells him, or any promises Trump makes, as serious. And no doubt, that's the counsel he's receiving from our former friends and former allies in Europe.

Only difference is that, like Muhammed and the mountain, the warring parties come to him

No way Zelensky can accept any deal that doesnt include joining NATO.

Otherwise he is the guy that got his country destroyed over nothing.

He will have to go live in South America with his stashed millions.

I wonder how many billions the US will be on the hook for?

no deal, then
Yup

^^^ fake news. I expected more from you. Don't force me to start mocking Canada again.
Huh? There was a deal the world doesn't know of? Even Trunp said there was no deal. You don't have the balls to mock Canada!

What Mr Z wants vs what the media keeps insisting Ukraine wants are entirely different here.....~S~

Thought you didn't like dictators, yet you have respect for Zelensky?

Our supposed 'friends and allies' have done nothing but take advantage of the US for decades, sorry that you don't like a US president standing up for our country instead of cashing in to sell it out. Typical leftist, hating your own country.

Guess he should have allowed democratically held elections and passed the baton to the next person to handle, but he's too in love with his own ego and power, not to mention the money.

Yeah, Trump wouldn't want to do a phone call with Zelensky and get caught trying to shake the man down again.

The reality is, Putin already got what he wanted, which was a photo op.

Ukrainians are already tiring of this war, Zelenskyy is out of troops, and eventually, they are going to have to negotiate on the current front lines being the new border.

Correct, no deal. But don't believe for a minute the summit wasn't a success. It achieved an important goal for trump. It got people to stop talking about Epstein.

The world allows another dictator to win, again.

There is zero chance that happens. Russia never agrees to it. It's the reason they invaded Ukraine in the first place and as long has he maintains the conflict Ukraine cant join NATO.
Otherwise he is the guy that got his country destroyed over nothing.

Public support for the war IN UKRAINE has plummeted. People want it to end. As is the norm the people shouting the loudest about how we have to fight a war are the ones who will never actually participate in fighting it.
