The island is close enough to the Iranian coast to be targeted by drones and artillery, which is what they will then do.

. . . and since we have seen so far the global establishment has no intention of de-escalating this, the Americans will consider landing on the coast, as that is the next step in the escalation ladder. These planners don't have any idea, they believe in the sunk cost fallacy.

. . . and once American troops take the coast, the Iranians will just continue to rain down artillery and drones from a Zagros Mountains. Naturally, they will want to stop that, so they will make the colossal blunder of attempting to go into those mountains. That will lead to the end of the American way of life we have enjoyed the past eighty years.
