There is no evidence that Zelensky has ever asked for money for arms. He does however want arms to continue to come in. We can only pray he doesn't think like Trump otherwise his country is doomed.

During the meeting at the white house, a reporter asked Trump if he thought Zelensky was a dictator, and Trump thought about it, and asked "Did I say that?" Russia has no incentive to come to the table if the US is no longer is politically willing to supply Ukraine indefinitely...they just have to wait Ukraine out.

Trump knows there is no political will in America to continue funding the war in Ukraine.

This situation gives Europe a rally to come to Zelensky's aid.

Now Ukraine is funded and Russia has achieved it's objectives and wants to hold them.

Both sides can now negotiate from a position of some strength, Europe is doing exactly what MAGA wants...policing their own back yard...and if all goes according to plan, there will be peace AND the US can leave Germany, Italy and the rest of Europe, and Europe can handle Russia on their own.

And WE can use that money we save by no longer being roped into underwriting the defense of Europe to rebuilding our own infrastructure and paying down our debt.

Things just don't work out that perfectly on their own.
