Yup, I'm going to go there. I'm going to use the "I" word.

Dems used to think that, then all the federal indictments against Trump got dismissed

Asstruth, they were dismissed because he won the 2024 election.

Not a single indictment (or impeachment for that matter) against Trump was dismissed on the merits.

I guess Trump will dismiss Comey's too then? I am so confused. Are indictments a sign of guilt?

"Critics say"....If we impeached a president based on what "critics say" we wouldn't have a country.

Sure we would. We just wouldn't have a criminal leading it.

They were dismissed because they couldn’t prove their case, that had months, and couldn’t get it done…partly cause xiden illegally appointed Jack smith

We call it, DRAINING THE SWAMP! :twirl:
Promises made ~ Promises kept
We call it an impeachable offense.

UPDATE (Sept. 24, 8:30 p.m.): On Wednesday evening, MSNBC learned that the Justice Department's plan to indict James Comey encountered a last-minute roadblock earlier this week, when line prosecutors presented President Trump's newly installed U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia with a memo suggesting their case against the former FBI director is too weak to pursue. Two sources familiar with the case said the memo explained why prosecutors lack sufficient evidence to convince a grand jury to indict Comey, but U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan can overrule their recommendation. This development was first reported by ABC News.

The legal term is "vindictive prosecution."

Well hopefully all those line prosecutors are fired, clearly they are incompetent, since a grand jury in fact said there was. Our justice system depends on neutral and detached review of the evidence, not some line prosecutors making the call.

The line prosecutors made the same judgement the DoJ did when Billy the Bagman was the AG. They declined to prosecute Comey for a lack of evidence.

But you're right about one thing. "Our justice system depends on neutral and detached review of the evidence." Not a vindictive prez cajoling his replacement for Seibert, Halligan being an insurance attorney with no prosecutorial experience chosen because she'll do what she's told, ordering prosecutions of people on his enemies list.

AI Overview

While it is true the U.S. Justice Department declined to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey in 2019, he was criminally indicted on two charges in September 2025. The indictment came after Donald Trump's return to the presidency.

2019 decision not to prosecute
  • The investigation: In August 2019, the Justice Department's Inspector General (IG) released a report on Comey's handling of confidential memos he wrote documenting his conversations with then-President Trump.
  • Findings: The IG concluded that Comey violated FBI policy by keeping copies of the memos and sharing them with his lawyers after he was fired in 2017. Comey had also authorized one of his lawyers to leak the contents of one of the memos to a reporter. The IG noted that Comey's conduct "set a dangerous example".
  • No criminal charges: Despite these findings, the IG's office stated that prosecutors had reviewed the case and declined to pursue criminal charges against Comey. The IG also "found no evidence that Comey or his attorneys released any of the classified information contained in any of the memos to members of the media," as Trump had alleged.

Cool, but your AI is about a different crime than what he is currently under indictment for.

Nice swing and a miss..and thanks for reminding by us how clueless you are on the topic

It goes without saying the prosecutions of James and Comey in light of the directive to the blonde sock puppet is an impeachable offense.
