YOu have to make $100K to afford McDonalds

California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington all have a $15 or higher minimum wage.

Washington has the highest minimum wage at $16.66.

That's going to drive up fast food costs.
Good drive it up.

That would be due to inflation during the Biden era.

Again, you can't really put that on Trump, except as an indirect cause of that inflation.

The inflation continues. I noted it's been happening for years.

Right let's make fast food affordable by raising the minimum wage to $50.
The minimum wage has not even come close to keeping up with inflation.

You can't whine about inflation one moment and then stomp on minimum wage workers the next.

The last federal minimum wage hike was in July 2009.

The $7.25 wage then has the purchasing power of about $4.00 today.

But cruelty is the point, right?

Make a crazy claim that you have to make 100k to afford a $2.00 burger at the Golden Arches and then blame Trump. That's where the democrat party is today.
Fast food has been expensive for a long time. Before the kids were teenagers we couldn't get out of Burger King for less than 50 bucks.

Now everyone I see at Chick-fil-A is using EBT. They're paying 15 bucks for a chicken sandwich. Family of four, that's 60 bucks. Hard to fathom how that makes ends meet.

If you are poor or even middle class you likely cannot afford to eat out, even at fast food places.

This is what trump is doing to our economy.

MDs prices are still at the level they were when Briben left office ..

This has been happening for a long time. Only thing Trump is doing is to continue making it all worse.

When I retired in 2020 you could get two sausage mcmuffins and a large diet coke for $3.00.

Now it's between $5 and $6. It didn't just happen the last couple months.
correct .. it ALL happened when Briben was POTUS ..

Companies haven’t paid the federal governments fake minimum wage for almost a decade. Most pay at least double.

What people make a salary is uneven at the lower classes. Fast food can have different quality to it depending on the tie you are at the place or from one place to another. So full price for a quarter pounder with cheese and the sandwich is a little old and smashed somewhat is not a good deal. Give and take.

Walmart plus membership offers a 25% off Burger King items if you use the app. It's not as good as it used to be but it's better than nothing.
If there isn't some serious movement on food prices before the midterms there's going to be hell to pay. Once again I see DC is forgetting about the grocery store issue. It's a mistake.

The thing is, cheap food is no longer cheap.
If you have a medium sized rice cooker I have a great recipe for you. One can of red kidney beans, one small can of Goya tomato sauce, two teaspoons of chili powder, two teaspoons of Adobo, one medium onion diced. Saute The Onion and a little bit of oil for 2 or 3 minutes. Once in a while I will buy a single red bell pepper and dice it up with the onions! Add the rest of the ingredients and stir it in until it's all warm.

Put that over two scoops of rice cooker rice.
It has a little bit of everything in it.

If you really want to get fancy one quarter pound of ground beef in with the onions and pepper at the beginning.

You'll get about three meals out of this.

Kidney beans 1$....chili powder is usually $2 for a standard sized container ( forget about 25 doses out of it). $3 for an 8 oz Adobo(last forever) onions are about $1 a pound, Goya tomato sauce three for a buck.... I like the basmati rice but it's a little more pricey than the short grain. 10 lb bag will last for ages. Usually about 6 or 7 bucks. Quarter of a pound of ground beef probably about a $1.50. a single red bell pepper will cost you about 50 cents.

The amount of electricity you use will be very negligible.

All in all I'd say you could make this for a total cost of between 4 and $5 and get three meals out of it.
