My solution is to go back to only using public funds with a definite limit to the amount like it was from Clinton on back. It worked for Ronnie quite well. And we had a say whom would run back then much more than we have today. Today, we have NO say in who runs. The backroom deals by the old white rich guys decides that before hand. We just get to vote for which of the cretins that they offer us to vote for. And through the chicanery, our votes aren't even that important. We just need to turn it back to a better time when our votes actually meant something. And then we can get to having a smaller government that actually does something instead of the do nothings we have now.

You are correct that we are no longer a Federal Republic. We are actually a fascist country. Fascism is actually an economic system where industry technically has owners, but they are figure heads. They are controlled by government. That is what we have today. Fascism is a form of socialism as again it's central economic planning. The end result of fascist governments is always full socialism.

I would rather have the economy that Republicans (House, Senate, and states) left Trump, instead of the economy that Democrats left Obama (who in turn made it exponentially worse).

Obama’s economy was from 2009 - 2010. It was among the worst economies in U.S. history. Then the American people turned to the Republican Party and things started to get better. After 8 years of Republican control, the economy is hitting record highs in the market and near record lows in unemployment.

Of course, if this “blue wave” actually crashes down on America (appropriate analogy), things will go to shit as the Dumbocrats fuck everything up. And of course, they will try to blame it all on Trump.

That’s why I pray that Republicans gain even more seats in the November 2018 election (as is expected). If we have at least 4 years of complete Republican control (and the prosperity that invariably goes with it), it will make progressives look even more absurd when they try to blame their failures on conservative policy once the left is back in control.

The collapse of the housing market was already happening before Obama took office. It didn't happen over night. Bush, Jr. saw it coming and tried to do something about it. He was laughed right out of capital hill in 2003. Obama really only went with Bush Jr's plans to prevent a total collapse. By the time Obama took office, it was much much worse and the fix was much more drastic and expensive. The problem was, the regulations on the Banks and Lending institutions were slackened under Reagan and it took it that long to surface as a huge negative. The economy doesn't go bust of boom over night and never has. This year will be the first year that Trump actually can lay claim to. Any positive or negative affects won't be known until further down the track.

I am an old style Progressive Conservative. Yes, a REAL Fiscal Progressive Conservative. People like me are not like many Republicans are today who say one thing to get elected and then do whatever floats their boat once they get elected as long as their corporate masters allow it. The last great president we had was Eisenhower who predicted what we have today. He didn't actually predict it, but he warned against it. Smaller government to you is to get rid of all opposition but don't change a damned thing as long as you are in charge.

Here is a thought, cupcake, I support putting the House back to part time and to only pay them part time. Make them go home 6 months out of the year and get JOBS. I support a multi tiered tax system with NO deductions which makes everyone pay their damned taxes (no loopholes and that would trim the IRS down quite a bit). There is a lot more trimming. Yes, I support Big Government as long as it's just big enough to do the job. You just bitch about it and allow your congress critters that you "Think" you elected to continue playing to the Corporate Needs and not ours.

The biggest thing I support is to go back to only Public Funds be allowed in Elections like it was from Clinton and Back where no matter what, there was a limit to each donation including from Corporations. Reagan (R) did pretty well under that system considering the GOP did about everything it could to prevent him from winning the Nomination. Imagine, Elections without the Pacs and Super Pacs. Imagine the Candidates having to actually visit every state and most towns and cities to get votes in person. It worked for Lincoln (R), another President that was not supposed to win. It worked for Clinton (D) who bussed and trained all over the place giving speeches everywhere. Here in Colorado, it worked for Governor Love (R) who drove around the entire state and even stopped to talk with farmers plowing fields. All of these people weren't supposed to win. And to prevent this from ever happening again, the change to the election funding had to change. Look at the mess we are in now and have been for a very long time and will be for a very long time to come.

If that is being a Liberal then there are one hell of a lot of Liberals running around that don't know they are Liberals but are getting damned pissed at the way things are run and will be hitting the ballots this time around.
