Trump is just as a President should be in a Constitutional Republic. Or what's left of it. We are now more of an Authoritarian Democracy that is moving more and more towards socialism. Seeing the rancor and the minor divisions inside his administration is just what the framers wanted. Remember, a lot of long term men and women have been in D.C. for most of their adult lives living the life off of the taxpayers. With Obama everyone thought the same. He did not even have to delegate as everyone of his fellow Borg drones knew the agendas. He only had the power of how much throttle to use. And he went to far.

Unfortunately, some people do that. Whether it be a "D" or an "R." I've even known people who have voted for the person they thought would win, just so they could say, "Yeah, I voted for that guy and he WON!"

It's about voting for the best candidate and so why do we have such a comment as vote for the guy with a "D" next to his name no matter how incompetent he is? Republicans are incompetent too and we see that today in our president. Nobody can truthfully say that trump was a better candidate than Clinton. Republicans have been able to do a great job of trying to paint democrats a certain way just as we see these guys trying to do to Biden. But we are in an emergency now, that's the ultimate test of leadership and trump has failed.
Yet some people want to give him 4 more years when his opponent is experienced in turning around an economy. And don't give me that senile crap after this president suggested that medical professionals research the possibility of injecting disinfectant into peoples lungs.

This is understandable, since some identity groups are have been chronically over-represented and some under-represented, which generates doubt as to whether the interests of under-represented groups are being served in the particular government body in question and raises a question as to whether the policies and laws advanced by this body will protect the under-represented group's liberty and rights.
And don't forget that there are members of over-represented groups who refuse to vote for anyone who doesn't look like them and get upset when a person who doesn't look them gets into office.

It's not "must." It's "should, it's time" given the circumstance that, in a population that is roughly half male and female, we have had 45 men, whose performance in office has ranged from excellent to the absolute bottom of the barrel currently in office, and not even one woman as president. Unfortunately, the U.S. has a rather sordid history, dating from the very beginning of the nation, of the males, in a show of identity politics, trying to keep females from participating in our nation's political process.
That said, I will not vote for a woman just because she is female. I would never vote for a woman who espouses the same sort of policies as trump and pence, for example, as she would be the same sort of scum as they are.

I have admitted that was a terrible thing, and I admit now that there must be some form of reparation for that nonsense, even though I find opening the treasury for handouts to anyone is abhorrent.
All that race-based whites-only handout shit happened because there has been, and remains, a general misunderstanding or a lack of consensus on the purpose of government.

You can see why I have no love for Ronald Reagan. He was also the guy who signed the 1986 Gun Owners Protection Act, which was really a veiled assault on the right, because it contained the Hughes Amendment.

Jim Crow laws were overturned by the civil rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s. Therefore according to Teflon Theory the Jim Crow period is now Ancient History. It has Absolutely No Effect on how White Americans alive today think and act. None whatsoever. Or not much. So racism is pretty much dead.
Instead of Jim Crow’s effect slowly weakening over time like you would expect, Teflon Theory would have you suppose that it just disappeared like magic one afternoon sometime in the late 1960s. Even though many White Americans alive now were alive back in Jim Crow times. Even though many others were brought up and shaped by those who were alive back then: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, writers, film directors, television producers, news editors and so on.
Few sit on a mountain top to come up with their beliefs all on their own. Instead most people pretty much go along with what everyone else already believes with maybe a few twists here and there. Such beliefs come from the past.
So then why is Teflon Theory believed?
- Because of how American history is taught:
- American history is taught as dates and people and facts that have little to do with each other. Sometimes the Effects of the the Civil War or Industrialization are studied, for example, but not so for the evil stuff – like how slavery and genocide led to present-day White American wealth, power and racism.
- American history as taught rarely comes up to the present day. History becomes something in the past, in a book, not something we live in right now.
- Because of the needs of White American self-image:
- White Americans want to think they are Basically Good and their society is Basically Just. Without Teflon Theory that becomes laughable since it flies in the face of history, common sense and human nature.
- White Americans avoid honestly facing up to their past because deep down they know it is ugly. Teflon Theory acts as a guard against having to take it seriously.
- Because middle-class whites are protected from the ugly present:
- Those who live in Apple-pie America rarely see first-hand the injustice that their comfortable lives are built on. And what injustice they do see on occasion, like black ghettos or wars on television fought overseas in their name, they have already learned to not see as injustice. But being protected from the ugly present makes the ugly past seem like another world, like it truly is ancient history with no bearing on the present.
