In the area I reside in rescue is a year around activity. Farmers/ranchers pretty much handle getting the creatures out of the wire & other types of situations also. Though traversing the ice is certainly dangerous for anyone attempting a rescue I had to laugh when I seen this rescue @ Loon Lake in Stevens county. The doe looks to be alert but fairly CALM especially taking into account her situation @ the time, but the rescuer APPEARS to be hanging onto her for DEER LIFE!!!

Another successful rescue by Stevens county Fire & Rescue!!!

haha, one doe out of millions of deer and the taxpayer pays for this?
we have no shortage of deer, in fact in many places way too many

Not all people but many folks view deer as wonderful assets to their community & worthy of saving them from situations that could/would lead to a deer's certain death. As far as deer being too numerous in some places U certainly could find yourself challenged on that opinion by other folks.

Well I know a way we could reclaim some of that money. I claim the back straps
